Umm I think this person is saying they asked the mentors how to stop the chat or something along those lines and they were not helping?
Also TamiSanri you may or may not know you can edit your post to bypass the 1000 character limit

No, when you are inserted in the novice net a pop-up or rather a tooltip appears explaining the purpose of it. You can leave right away if you type the / command nastatusoff. Simple. And you cannot be brought back in after that. It's ideal for, say, an alt used solely for banking purposes. To pull an example from the air.

I would suggest you go back and read TamiSanri's posts as they mention asking the mentor chat questions and getting ignored as well as their reasoning behind wanting to keep their icon which I feel is a legitimate one.No, when you are inserted in the novice net a pop-up or rather a tooltip appears explaining the purpose of it. You linked a whole bunch of people in there and said"this person". I thought you meant the OP o.O
First, they don't tell the new player about /nastatusoff and it's not exactly a simple command to remember or even to come up with on their own. Second, new players might actually WANT to have the leaf remain, as I did when I first started, because they want others to know that they are new and may not know the intricacies of the game like a veteran. I was actually upset when I first started that my leaf went away so quickly (it has since changed) as until I hit level 60, I always felt like I was "new" and wanted others to know not to expect much. Heck, even after I hit 60, I wouldn't have minded having it around as I was still learning things at that level. No, when you are inserted in the novice net a pop-up or rather a tooltip appears explaining the purpose of it. Why should I HAVE to do this, instead of be given the option to not join in the first place? It's not like invite confirmations are unheard of in this game! You have to confirm joining an LS and an FC, why not the Novice Network?

i honestly thought there was a status display that popped up, with something like "you've been invited to the novice network" and other stuff saying a bit about it. i know newbie confusion is possible but i would think a simple click yes or no option would be simple enough. but i'm not a newbie anymore so i can't say it with certainty.
also this is off topic, but i love your Roe, XD
I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.
It should have been, from the getgo. But no, I believe in some Live Letter or something, he said no confirmation was intentional, because they didn't want some new player to "miss out" by not understanding what they were being invited to. Which, to me, is utter nonsense.i honestly thought there was a status display that popped up, with something like "you've been invited to the novice network" and other stuff saying a bit about it. i know newbie confusion is possible but i would think a simple click yes or no option would be simple enough. but i'm not a newbie anymore so i can't say it with certainty.
