Are the relic/anima weapons even trying anymore?

Okay so, I have not gotten my anima yet, waiting for one step to get a little easier. But anyway, does anyone else feel like the new upgraded animas feel too out there, I looked at all of them and some are decent but others seem overly designed or have extra frills that seem unnecessary. I was wondering othe players opinions on this? Also what do you think of the names? Are they good? Or do you hope they change in a future step? Because "item" of the "person" seems a bit dull, in my opionion. What are everyone elses thoughts?

My most recent relic looks like actual gloves now.... with a razor! Once I get it, I'll be able to punch/slice my enemies!

I feel like it'd be too early to make any part of the relic look "wow" or "amazing". I had to wait until Zeta's stage to get something that looks like it'd melt faces. I'm content with waiting until the final stage for this relic.

hm.... not really.

When i picture Legendary Weapon status weapons I do often see them as the Anima are now. Crazy, Strange, Over the top, and special effects around it.

I do like how the Machinist Anima weapon for phase 5 looks like a Allagan Model weapon and with the game picturing Allagan Tech as Legendary weapons it suits the theme.

OP, you can always get the poor man's relic when palace of the dead comes out.

Relics as of now they're just Glamours, i wouldn't bother with them unless you want the Glamour.

Totally not true. The lvl 230 relic is roughly on par with eikon weapons, and the 240 relic is the second best weapon in the game. The anima weapons are definately usable for all content in the game.

No matter if you're casual or hardcore it's the same, they're just glamours, even for people who clear A8S it's useless, it's lower ilvl than Midas weapons, even for those who got i240 Lore it's useless since they came out 3 months later.

The i240 Anima would have been relevant if it was released in 3.2, even for casuals it brings little to no meaning besides being a Glamour, most casuals don't even raid, so they don't need the difference in DPS from i230 to i240, that is if they can even DPS properly to see the difference.

If you really want the Glamour but you don't like a step all you can do is wait for nerf.

That's a very queer way of thinking, since not everyone raids. Not to mention, I'm expecting the final stage of the relic to ultimately match the power of the other end game weapons that'll be available, as it has done so before.

I've disliked nearly every high-level weapon design since second coil. But that's because I feel they all look over-designed and overly fantastical. (And I absolutely hate weapons with moving parts.)

To be honest, I've learned to mostly just stop caring. I have the few simple, functional weapon designs I use for my glamours and the rest can be whatever. Though I am incredibly confused by the token weapons this go-round. The monk weapons look absolutely amazing and are completely different in concept than every other one, and all the rest look really meh.

Yep. But that doesn't stop me from responding to the glamour part... or the raid part, or literally what comprises most of your post. I should probably be clear that I wasn't arguing or attacking your post, so unsure of how I should take the snap response here.
