Machinist.
I realized I needed a bit more "complexity" otherwise I'd get bored with the game again. Took a chance and ended up loving my MCH.

Started off as an Arcanist since I tend to be casters and found out it wasn;t clicking as well as I'd hoped. (will likely pick up again later) Saw a ninja wearing a really nice glamour and thought "wait.... I can be a NINJA!?" Went back to Limsa joined the Rouges guild and ground it out from there. Decidecd on Black Mage for my DPS cater since it fits my style more and White Mage as healer because I like contradictions.
.... and I will become a Samurai if/when it becomes available just to be full circle.

Started as a CNJ/WHM because I was a WHM back in XI. I enjoy healing. I've been doing it in MMOs for years so why stop now?
I do play other jobs but I'll always come back to my WHM because it feels wrong now to be anything else haha.

WHM. Started with SCH, but I prefer the brute heal job.
However, I think that I will change to AST. I absolutely love the aesthetic of the class and it seems way more fun.

Dark Knight is my main job even though my preference role is dps. I don't mind being a tank role in this game because of my like for the job.
DRK has been a favorite of mine throughout all FF's.

I didn't know anything really about any of the jobs when I started playing other than basics (I.e., paladin/warrior are tanks, white mage is a healer, and which classes were DPS), so I actually chose Bard based on the way my character looked in the bard's gear during character creation. The more I played bard, the more I loved it. While running dungeons, every time the tank was a DRK, it always caught my eye because I really liked the animations. So when I got bard to 60, I decided to play DRK and the storyline pulled me in (30-50 specifically). Those two have been my mains ever sense. I do enjoy SMN, WHM, and AST too. SCH is also fun, and so is MNK. But BRD and DRK will always be my mains, I think. :3

My first Final Fantasy game ever was FFIV (named II back then) in 1992. Its main character was a Dark Knight turned Paladin. Plus, I've always liked playing tanks in whatever MMOs I've played and I like the "Holy Knight" meta that Paladin is.
So I mained PLD in XI. I mained Templar in Aion and GLA in XIV. Needless to say, I didn't complain when it was revealed that PLD would be GLA's Job Crystal.

Upon release, I was on fire to know how Summoner was changed in XIV versus XI. I wanted to find out if the devs learned their lesson and ironed out the mistakes that caused he job to be severely unbalanced in XI. As I leveled Arcanist through to 30, I came to like where it was going. The Egis were a bit strange-looking, to be sure, but the devs made sure that it was a DPS job and a good one.

All my character choices were extremely entrenched in keeping with a Sailor Moon type theme.
Name: Serenity Moonlight, after Princess Serenity (who doesn't technically have a last name, but Usagi's is Tsukino, which roughly means "of the Moon").
Race: Miqo'te, Keeper of the Moon (fairly obvious)
Job: Astrologian, which I mean - one because it's a space/star themed class. I couldn't start as an astrologian. I originally started as a white mage. I love playing healing classes in general (was a healer in WoW for 10 years previous), but Sailor Moon's kinda known for her ability to heal people of afflictions, especially if she uses the silver crystal.
My DPS "main" is Bard. This one serves no lore purpose, but my original dps main in WoW was hunter and I really enjoyed it. Also loved the idea of playing a harp in battle lol.

After I started playing, I decided to main as a bard. Then, I recruited 7 more people. 4 of them decided to be bards too. Despite me explaining that, at the time, bards were lowest on dps because of their support utility, and there really should be a variety of dps.
Nope.
So I went healer.
