    More Party Finder options?

Let me start with this question: “How is the Party Finder on your server?”

On Ragnarok it is big mess. Players looking for static groups, crafters selling stuff, carry sellers selling carries, random roes looking for eRP prostitutes… and then people who do not comprehend or ignore the PF description.

It’s messy and it could use some improvements.

    1. It would be great if the advertisement and actual looking for group entries were separated

This is needed. There are days when the whole PF is filled up with advertisement and nothing else. The player base clearly requires a place to advertise so it would be lovely if they got it and kept the PF clean for the actual content doing.

As many players suggested we should add the second tab for adds and reinforce that these can’t be put in the first one.

    2. It would be great if the players got more control over who can join THEIR groups

Personally I would like to see several additional options alongside the item level and job. Options allowing to specify the player pool which can see the party being up for joining.

Checkboxes for: friends, free company and specific linkshells.

There are linkshells for doing specific content so there should also be an option to put PF up that would allow only the members in these linkshells to join in. This would give players better control over the people with whom they want to play.

    3. The bonus and farm checkbox

The bonus checkbox should have been in the game ages ago.

The best way of saving people’s feelings on both sides is to hide the parties that don’t want “newcomers” from the party finder window, while allowing only the players who cleared the content to see them up.

The farm checkbox should be also there.

Right now we have this bonus/no-bonus division which just promotes carrying. People are doing what they can to remove the bonus so that they can wipe a little bit less in the farm parties. The way of making the party finder working better is to actually introduce the farm setting. For example only people who cleared the content 10 times etc. being able to see and join these parties.

All these points are simply my opinion about how to make the party finder work better and of course you are free to agree or disagree with it as you see fit. If you have some of your own suggestions to improve the state of PF don’t be afraid to write them down. ^^

Well. About the first point, actually, it is good the adversitements and annouces should have their own own window, this way PF will be only for duties and that.

THe second one I don't see the use. I mean, if you set up a party, you will invited your friends, fc and linkshells first, then fill the rest with the PF. I don't really see the use of this option, as you can invite them easily.

About the third one, well, there is a "Farm" check box. It is called "Multiple runs for the loot". That one mean farm, maybe someone doesn't see it, but the option is there.

Do you go through your whole friend list when setting up the PF? I would rather set up a party for friends only, allowing them to join me, and then open it for public if any vacant slots are free. It would save a lot of spamming.

"Multiple runs for the loot" is a suggestion. I am asking for the option to make it a requirement to see and join the group.

    Greetings, adventurers!

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions for improving the current Party Finder system. While we cannot guarantee that these options will be added in the future, the dev. team is aware of the interest in more user control for listings. As such, we would like to share that as the cross-world Party Finder system is being developed, the team is taking into consideration things like the ability to password-protect listings to allow for better control on who can join. We imagine this could be very useful for coordinating events across different worlds!

We appreciate your input and encourage you to continue to share your thoughts.

Does this mean that we'll be able to get Cross-world Linkshells and friends lists? I am blind and can't read anything right.

Well no, nowhere in his post did he mention cross world linkshells or friendlists. Those would indeed be cool but not sure where you got that idea.

The main reason why the Party Finder is not working for the harder content and so many groups disband after few wipes is caused by the players who ignore the comments.

Getting to the phase XYZ once does not mean you are ready to join parties to do XYZ.

Parties should spend most of the time doing the phase that is written in the comment not trying to get there.

It really is very messy, And especially the first point I'd be more than happy to see implemented as sometimes I jsut skip everything that's not just a comment because I'm looking for certain offers, and sometimes I look if there's something I could do and ignore the ones with the comments.

Lisotte - Given what Luxpheras described, how would a cross-world party finder system with the ability to password protect listings exist if we didn't have the ability to speak to other players from other worlds? I'm just trying to understand how that'd work or am I missing something?

Easy. You communicate out of game(maybe on teamspeak or some such) and then be able to join that way.
