What decided your main job class?

In any game, I love the idea of having a Pet/Companion with you, and while that'd put me under the assumption that I would've gone Summoner, I was overjoyed to see that there was a Pet/Summon type class that specialized in Healing. Being a Scholar just makes me feel right at home especially with all the buffs and shields you can throw out as opposed to something like a White Mage's straight up power heals.

While the Astrologian was one of the classes that piqued my interest in the game in the first place, Scholar has ended up being my favorite.

I'm absolutely terrible at it, but I like being able to multi task. So Archanist, setting my Pet to do one thing while I do something else.

I started as an Arcanist because I tend to like magic-using characters but the Thaumaturge's resource management and micromanagement turned me off. I also liked that Arcanists have a heal. I had originally intended to go Summoner until I discovered how amazing the Scholar was at soloing (which I spend most of my time doing). It's damage output is pretty good for a healer and simple to execute compared to Summoner and Thaumaturge (no managing funky cooldowns or "spells you can only use while this or that buff is up"), I get faster dungeon queues as a healer, and I get to dps much of the time. It just ended up being a win win all around.

Though I started as a WHM main, I now main Bard and Ninja. Bard pretty much just because I always play Archer/Bard in MMOs (good old Ragnarok Online days) as well as healers (hence the WHM)
I also have a preference for playing Swordsman or Assassin classes but, seeing as swordies here are just tanks and not DDs I opted for Ninja (mained an Assassin in RO too) I quite enjoy both classes though Bard makes me wish I could either actually use my harp for something other than added decoration for a 2 second animation and that I could actually do a little more damage. Not happening but oh well :P Nin is pretty nice, save for when your bunny decides to let everyone know you messed up your mudras somehow.

I was a PLD at first but then I went to Balmung because my original server (lich) was a german one. In this server I went warrior because 1) My character was from a game and she used an axe. 2) I play tanks anyway, easy queues.

But the more I played, the more I liked the diversity of warrior: it wasn't just about pressing 1-2-3 but also the wrath mechanic that got me. It's still my favourite tank because it has an actual mechanic behind (I don't consider mana drain as a mechanic, and PLD has the block but...yeah they got nothing). To this day I still play warrior because of their uniqueness and thanks to HW they've pretty much become the perfect Offtanks.

I also played a lot of BRD back in ARR as I loved hunter back in wow (-insert your usual hatred speech about wow here-), but overall any archer class really intrigues me...but HW made them mini BLMs so I went full caster instead (which I didn't like back then, but I'm having much more fun now).

Because I love anything related to the stars and planets..and eventually I'll always find myself being a healer in a mmo. No matter how many times start as a different role.

As for Main, I went with BLM because my previous game was terraria, where I played a magic-oriented build. I also fin AST my favorite healing Job because I like the stars

No sword dps class, so dragoon it is.

Warrior. It' a fun class that you can get a lot done with, and it's visually appealing to use a great axe.

When I going through the story I saw this Ninja completely wreck shop. And I was like; that, I want to do that. And it's a really fun class and people bring me along to stuff because of Trick Attack.
