    Okay Please help

So, I finally got my fisher to 60 (all geared in my nice ironworks gathering gear)

And I cannot figure the fishing aetherial system.

I tried going back like 10 pages in the section, nothing.
Looked on the internet, there is barely anything, and no real guides.

Why is this? I know you fishers know how to get that sweet sweet seaborne.
    Please help a Roe out!

PS-I gather land and leaf all the time btw so I know how it work with mining botany. but this...

your best bet is the Pteranodon, at Sohm Al Summit in Chruning Mists. any weather, from 9:00 until 16:30. your bait is the Giant Crane Fly, wich you can buy with blue scrips.

the collectibale rating is the size of the fish x 10. that means you need the HQ buff, patience, or better patience 2, if you have enough GP, because a HQ fish is always super big and has a rating of 8/8. wait for the big animation - this is the Pteranodon - and use Powerfull Hookset. never catch a fish when you see an other animation when a fish bites because it will just cost you time and probably GP (just watch the animations and learn how to differ them - there is small, medium and big, small needs precious hookset, middle and big powerfull).

after that you can go to Voor Sian Siran in the Sea of Clouds. Catch a Bullfrog in HQ, if you use a Bladed Steel Jig you will never catch any other fish than the Bullfrog. When you have a Bullfrog in HQ you can use it as bait to catch the Caiman, a fish wich you can also reduce.

You can catch the Caiman from 18:00 until 20:30, any weather.

Precious Hookset for the Bullfrog, Powerfull for the Caiman.

a third fish is the Dravanian bass, wich you can catch in the Whilom River in the Dravanian Forelands, from 0:00 until 6:00, only at Clous, Fog or Dust Storm. use Brute Leech (also buyable with blue scrips). This fish has a middle animation, so use Powerfull Hookset. you can expect to catch many Pipira Pira instead, because they have the same weather conditions and the same animation.

you can rotate this 3 fish and at the wrong weather for the Dravanian Bass catching Illuminati Perch instead, for blue scrips, to be able to buy the bait you need.

Thaliak Caimans are your best bet for seaborne and the go-to seaborne generator for most people. The other fish aren't worth the trouble for the low rates they return seaborne (like 6% chance). It's Middle Thaliak River from 3pm-6pm, any weather, Almost a guaranteed mooch from Bullfrog, which is a very common bite from bladed steel jig, or a less common mooch from sweetfish. It's a very easy fish to catch 3-4 of in the timeframe every time around, with a 40-50% reduction rate to seaborne at 7/8 and 8/8 as well as a very high HQ sand rate as well as a chance at 1-3 sands. Back when I was making full i170 crafting sets for myself, I'd usually get multiple seabornes every time around and seaborne was the easiest for me to get by far.

So you can go and farm a bunch of Bullfrog HQ's before hand, then use them as Mooching bait?

    Short answer: no.

Mooching happens with the catch you get on the spot. The moment you keep/release your HQ fish that could be used as a mooch bait you'll lose the chance to mooch and have to start from the beginning. When a fish can be mooched, the mooch icon becomes available and only then you can do it, not otherwise.

But you can catch a moochable fish before the window for the fish you want is open and hold it forever waiting for that window.

As long as you don't "time out" on your spot with "the fish sense something is amiss..."

Go with Tint's advice, it's spot on. One thing though - I don't use the Patience buff so I do get smaller Pteranodon but that means crystals galore! I wouldn't even both trying for the other fish as they have much shorter windows or other issues. Pteranodon is straight catch with Giant Crane Fly.

Pteranodons only have around a 6% chance to reduce to seaborne aethersand, so while you may be able to get a couple more per window than the Thaliak Caimans, you won't be seeing anywhere near the amount of aethersands from them.

That's very true. To be honest, I go for the Pteranodon more for the ice shards/crystals/clusters as I chew through those when crafting. Any Aethersand is a bonus for me. Thaliak Caiman definitely seem to be the way to get large quantities of Seaborne Aethersand.
