    Moogle Primal Difficulty

    So from reading the letters. Yoshi was saying that the designer of Ifrit wants to make Moogle Primal harder than Ifrit.

    I think this is a huge mistake because, the designer is basing it on the fact that hardcore players beat it in 4 days. But the fact is that not everyone is very good at the game.

    I think the difficulty if Ifrit is just right atm. Moogle Primal should be designed around the same difficulty but just a different strategy and gameplay, but not more difficult.

    Yoshi has said that as they add new content they'll lower the difficulty on older content. He wants to add new stuff every three months or so, that way hardcore players can have their "zomg world first."

    There's easier content for players to conquer while learning how to play better.

    I'm for more difficult battles. Despite not having defeated Ifrit once. I've never played an MMO where the "hard" fight was anything more than an endurance run.

    Ifrit took 4 days to beat for like 3~4 linkshells and then another 3~4 days for the rest of the pack to trickle in. Not EXTREMELY hard by current MMO standards but still on the right track. I hope Moogle gives us the nostalgia of throwing ourselves at him for a week or two before anyone gets him down.

    i think they should be a little harder than ifrit but there should be a primal of primals who is almost impossible and who can have up to 50 people in a pt for him.

    With the changes to class abilities coming up and jobs not too far off, I think it's nearly impossible to speculate on the difficulty of nearly anything past what's right at our fists right now (Ifrit).

    Also if we get swords that has a moogle in the hilt, I want it to be a GLORIOUS fight for that ridiculous looking weapon.

    The Ifrit fight is -already- easy enough that most people who have their stuff together at all can probably clear it if they have a few friends, just by virtue of having more information about the fight and viable strategies and so on. This is /exactly/ what Yoshida wanted, and it worked pretty much perfectly.

    Also, yeah, class rebalancing will shift a lot of stuff around; I don't think we can meaningfully complain about fight difficulty until at least the dust has settled from 1.20, and even then, please recall that the job system will be released between "now" and "when this content is either no longer available or significantly different", so the battle system will be shifting, generally in a sense so as to give player characters -more- toys to play with (and kill Primals with), not even counting new equipment added or a potential level cap raise.
