Its been out awhile now, still have yet to see one, wondering if anyones getting close?

And you likely won't see one for quite a few years. You need to do 2000 mentor roulettes to get one. 1 mentor roulette a day, every single day, will take 5 years.
I heard that one Japanese player has the Astrope, but I haven't seen any proof. It might be 'possible' if they had done quite a lot of Mentor roulettes before they even added the mount I guess.
You'd have to do quite a lot per day to get it within a reasonable amount of time :/
My calculation: to get it in around one year's time you would need to do at least 6 successful mentor roulettes every day for 365 days.
6 x 365 = 2190
5 x 365 = 1825 (5 leaves you a bit short but would only take you a bit longer than a year)
This looks like very conclusive evidence to me: http://ff14net.2chblog.jp/archives/49009678.htmlI heard that one Japanese player has the Astrope, but I haven't seen any proof. It might be 'possible' if they had done quite a lot of Mentor roulettes before they even added the mount I guess.

If that's not test server screenshots then that's ridiculous. I just don't understand some people. For the record I'm at 77.This looks like very conclusive evidence to me: http://ff14net.2chblog.jp/archives/49009678.html

Look! Fresh meat.
I'm not sure I've understood it so ... here's my question:
Can't you queue more than once a day? I mean ... nobody would do it since it would be tiring and devastating but theoretically, one could just farm Mentor's roulette until he has cleared 2000 instances, right?
Not conclusive. It has Golden Japanese text in one of the images so if I were to guess it is screenshots made by SE.This looks like very conclusive evidence to me: http://ff14net.2chblog.jp/archives/49009678.html
If there was a character name to lookup on the Lodestone to see the mount in their mount list that would be conclusive evidence; otherwise no that's not conclusive evidence and looks like SE's screenshots.
Minion Menagerie scans the lodestone to find out who has minions and mounts and still shows Astrope at 0 as of this post, while another mount added the same patch "Dark Lanner" from Nid EX has 1,377 owners as of this post. It's not 100% proof either but its likely no one has it then.

Yes, you can do as many per day as you're able to. You just only get the roulette gil + tomes once per day (although role-in-need gil can also be claimed as many times per day as you're able)
If I do the roulette twice in a day, the second time I seem to get an extreme primal 90% of the time (synced to 50 and no matter how much we go over strategy, we never complete it, so it basically wastes 40 minutes).
This just makes me smile. Sorry. Have you seen how some people approach each and every grind that comes out? ;-) Guaranteed, some people are doing exactly that.
I've heard it's been spotted on Ultros, but I didn't see it myself.
