red scrips

Is there any point to gathering them? I've got my two main hand weapons and my 190 HQ overmelded gear is better than the 200 red scrip stuff AND there's no real reason to favor farm anymore so is there any point to the red scrips? All I can think is the materia but I feel I'd get more money just selling the ada ore than turning it in. I know there's going to be new red scrip gear but is that just going to be updates to the useless accessories?

What other things can I do with them? =X

The new red scrip upgrades in 3.4 will be for offhand tools as well, not just the accessories. I'm assuming those will need the same amount of goblin cups as the current MH tools, so saving up 26 of them for two OH tools might be an idea.

I'm just going to make them myself. I have all the stuff already but I'm just feeling a bit lazy atm. =/

If you're working on a Relic or don't have all of the Legendary Tomes yet, pre 3.3 red scrip tokens can be exchanged for 4 blue scrip tokens each.

I'm very picky when it comes to my MH and OH. If is not fully melded with tier V its not worth it in my opinion. (even if is over melded with tier 4) I know it's still good and better than red scrip but is it really worth the millions of fails? I'm not really bothered about how much money will cost me to over meld cause I can afford it but that doesn't mean I'm not gonna use my brain or just throw my money away for the sake of a couple of extra points.

I will personally stick to Red scrip tools.

The High Mythrite MH with only a few materia (not millions of gil) is better than the Augmented.

I am getting my augmented gear for my alt b/c it is easier than crafting full sets for both characters. We dont' know what the offhands or accessories are going to look like for dice/cup gear so might be an interesting look. Regardless there is always a method to the madness so you can save them or spend them but I always think things are worth doing because you just never know.

This has already been mentioned but if you have a lot of gil or resources and are put in this situation and haven't gotten all of the folklore tomes.. Exchange red scripts for blue scripts and slowly get that out of the way, especially if you hate the blue script grind.

Stockpiling T4 Materia for 4.0 is not really a bad idea.

Personally, I'm still collecting RGS because I'm outfitting my retainers in the i200 gear. Accessories (belt, right side gear) I'm crafting and melding i190 gear - shoving a pair each of T4 Perception and T4 Gathering Materia to max those stats for the servants. Working RGS will be a somewhat slow, but steady, replacement for those T4 Materia after I'm done re-outfitting them.

But if you like blowing materia up it isn't.

I REALLY like blowing materia up. While I like the new try again system I SO miss the animation of total despair on failing.
