Graphics Glitch?

Whenever i am in a high populated area this happens... Why is it happening it is very annoying... all words gone... lines on screen... it really screws me up. please tell me how to fix... it has only been happening since the last big update.

I think your graphics card might be overheating, at least I've seen glitches like that from an overheating card. I can see the cross hotbar, but if you're on a PC you should be able to view the temperatures of your card (either with software that came with the card or free monitoring software). If you're on a console might just have to check for dust, make sure it has decent airflow/cool environment etc.

Sorry not a lot of help, but hopefully it's a starting point anyway.

Yep its your card, you are either overheating or its starting to fail. If you get screen tears outside of the game its more likely a failing card. Check for dust in your pc and see if fans need a cleaning.

Different games have different hardware requirements though. Like in an extreme example when I play Bejewelled it doesn't require hardly any CPU/GPU usage, but if I go to the other end of the scale and play GTA V, it takes pretty much everything I've got (and then some!).

FF XIV can be quite intensive on both CPU and GPU and highest populated areas are when your computer has to do the most work as it has all the extra people to have to handle. Although it might not be related, I don't know where you live/what your climate is like, but in the last few weeks my local temperature has gone up considerably and perhaps yours has too. I'm just suggesting it's not necessarily related to 3.3 and could be something simple like the environment has changed things.

Do you also find it happens straight away as soon as you turn the computer on, or does it takes a while? (temperature to build up). I still recommend checking temperatures of graphics card(s), but a quick test (which may or may not have any impact) is to just take the side of your case off and try the game then and see if it's made any difference.

Edit: You could also try turning down the graphics settings (which would place less stress on your computer) and see if that makes any difference too.

i can turn it on and head to limsa and it happens right away. i keep the inside of my apartment at 68... the place is always nice and cool. the graphics are set to standard desktop right now i have things like shadows and such turned off.

heres the update it was corrupted texture files due to the last update... all i had to do was uninstall and reinstall... im only writing this for others that may have this problem. cheers... thank you for your help

I expected that but didn't want to make the suggestion in case you downloaded the immense amount of data files only to find no change. X3
