Hey all! I just had a quick question about chocobo breeding at the Gold Saucer.

In the guides I read, they all suggested I start inbreeding at some point to maintain stats. I started off with my first chocobo who was female, and every single subsequent breeding (and through the generations, I've bred nearly 10 times by now trying to get a decent result) has produced a male chick. So, is this just bad luck on my part? Or did they change it so that the starting chocobo determines the gender of all subsequent generations in order to prevent inbreeding and force you to cultivate multiple bloodlines?

Sorry if the answer is common knowledge, I've just come back to FF14 after more than a year off, so I am still trying to catch up on what I missed and none of my searches turned up a definitive answer. Thanks in advance for any help!
