How would I explain this games never changing formula?

Monotony. Thats it. Same thing patch after patch. I haven't done city of mhach, or any tomes, or logged on in weeks. Its just the same thing since I've hit level 50. Try to get my ilvl as artificially high as possible. The gear isn't interesting, the items aren't interesting. Nothing interesting ever drops in the overworld. Its just me waiting in duty finder and eventually logging off when my EX roulette que takes 15minutes.

So meh, I subscribed for 60 more days through amazon just for those dumb items but until something catches my eye, I think I'll take a leave from Final FantasyXIV 2.0.

Interestingly enough many players are also leaving LoL currently.

You see the same complaints cropping up because the core issues have yet to be addressed over a matter of years at this point. Plugging your ears and acting like many of those complaints aren't valid or telling players to abandon ship on a subscription based MMO that has already had to relaunch from failure doesn't really help the players who are currently enjoying the game either.

Luckily the developers disagree with your statement and have gone on multiple times asking for players to post feedback and criticism in the discussion forums if this somehow bothers you or you have nothing constructive to add perhaps it's best you avoid them entirely.

I don't. I rarely see them. Also you can't say they are joining because that could purely be them doing a trial to see how it is.

I see them even on Balmung and Gilgamesh and those servers are hard to get into. We have a number of them in my FC.

Considering the amount of new people I see in game, asking questions here and on reddit, and the forum whiners threatening to leave but never do, I'd say the player base is growing nicely.

Well this could be attributed to many things, maybe people are self-concious of the leaf and learn to switch it off, i know i did. Maybe it's the server you are on, considering all the servers are in one place, when new player sogn up they're are probably choosing the first server they see which would probably be the ones queued with lowest population.

However all of this is just mindless speculation no more evidence than anecdotes.

I've seen several people say their goodbyes in Novice Chat of Odin as they get closer to being unable to participate in it anymore. I've explained to people the stages of being recruited as a friend and seen people ask when they can use their cool Coeurl mount. I recognize sprouts with questions that have been in the chat longer than two weeks. There are definitely new non-trial players out there on our server.
