$12, plus $3 per extra character slot sounds fantastic to me.

I've seen some good suggestions in this thread. Personally I'm one of the people that would have paid full price regardless, but if them charging a smaller fee will get more people to stick with the game then obviously it's to their advantage.
The gradual increase per patch seems reasonable. I also like the idea of the price being in line with a round number for crysta ($5 or $10). Personally I feel a fair discounted price is between $8-$10.
$12.25 = 25% reduction (still full price minus the archaic and moronic character fee)
$13.50 = 10% reduction (still full price)Honestly, to me? 10% sounds perfectly reasonable, but I doubt many would see it my way.
Please be aware of what you're saying. I feel like you just threw out random percentages to make it sound like a solid point.
6-7 dollars is still a great point to get people who are still extremely cautious about the game and it shows SE can COMPROMISE with the community by saying "we know we screwed up, we do need your support though."

One point. Global price cut. Why would I put the word 'global' if I weren't factoring in the character fees and so forth? Well, I suppose I could have been talking about the prices worldwide, but, what does that have to do with anything?
See? Global.
Here, it's very simple, let me try to reiterate:
I, personally, feel that while I would be perfectly happy paying full price, I would feel a discount on the total amount of money I would normally have to pay monthly to play this game of 10-25% would be reasonable. I would also feel that discounts nearer to 50% would be a little bit much.
There. See? Or how about this?
I feel it would be appropriate to pay about a quarter less than the full subscription price, were a discount to be given. I also feel that halving the overall amount of money we would normally pay is a bit much.
Now, on the other hand if you were arguing that the amounts I suggested were invalid because.. they don't exceed the amount I'd gain from their simply waiving character fees? Well, that's your lookout, I just gave you what you wanted: my opinion on the size of the discount with which I'd be comfortable.
For goodness' sake, by your apparent logic, I could argue that to me, it looks like you jumped on a post because you perceived a semantic weakness that you could use to clumsily railroad the discussion back to your own point, then used your little attack on me with its insinuations about why I posted what I did to make your own opinion look better when you suddenly reiterated it immediately after.
Anyway, whatever. Requested opinion given, sorry if it still doesn't match up to your standards. This isn't a subject I'm particularly bothered about so..yeah. Have fun.

Honestly, I don't really care about a price cut or not. I just wish they'd stop charging $3 for each extra character. Of course, I wouldn't mind a discount to the monthly fee if they were offering.![]()
I can pay half for a half done game and not feel ripped off. That would work for me, for now.
$6 or $7 is a fair and understandable cost. Servers cost money to run. Programers gotta eat too. But its enough of a discount that it shows that they are understanding to the still limited nature of the game. Especially at a time when there are a number of other games out or about to be released we could play instead.
It is better to be pissed off than pissed on.
I don't feel SE owes us anything, they've given so much, and have more in store with 2.0. I'm very thankful to SE, and appreciate the hard work.
I feel the game will be where it should have been at launch by 1.21 or so. I'm willing to pay without discount.

I'm still waiting on a community rep response about this. I have extra characters, and I don't want to have to pick and choose which to play each month, and deactivate half of them.
I would be perfectly happy(and able to pay) if they were $1 each like XI.
I feel that paying for retainers is a bit much also. I don't know any other game that made you pay monthly for storage space. I know space is an issue now... but what about on the new servers? Will inventory space be an issue then? Will we still have to pay for retainers then? We didn't have to pay for storage in XI, and we had plenty of space.
With this it's not so much that I don't want to pay, but I simply cannot afford to pay $40+ a month.

^ Well said, AmyRae.Actually, that's wrong. Gradual price increases are easier to accept than giant ones, especially when we're dealing with a product that has some serious defects in it that won't be fixed for at least a year. If they're upfront about what they want to charge for 2.0, people can make a responsible decision.
I just don't see how a discount, as opposed to full price, could make any of the playerbase disgruntled.
