Unukalhai [SPOILER Discussion]

On Topic:
Unukalhai has been the mystery character since his introduction into 3.0/3.X.

We do not know who is this Master he speaks about and what is his ultimate goal that he seeks to complete for his Master.

However, a interesting thing about his name is that it translate into Alpha Serpentis which is the brightest star in the Serpens constellation which is also known in the Final Fantasy series to be associated to Elidibus from Final Fantasy Tactics.

One may question if his "Master" may actually be Elidibus (FF14 version) and this entire Warring Triad Storyline and sending the WoL to kill the Primals (extreme version) is part of Elidibus's plot about the so called "Truth" of the world with the Warrior of Light being only a Tool to progress his plans and Unukalhai is only the means to get the WoL to perform these tasks.

So what do you think about Unukalhai and his involvement so far in the Warring Triad Saga?

I think at some point right before or after fighting the 3rd icon he will betray us and we need to get rid of him.

Or he will free himself from his master since he gets a conscience by working with the scions.

Also, in FFXII the Serpent constellation represents Zodiark which (if I'm not mistaken) is woshipped by the Ascians as opposite to Hydaelyn. We know that Urianger is somehow linked to the Ascians too so I wouldn't be surprised if we were in for something big .. as of now there are so many plot lines still open:

The Warriors of Darkness
The Warring Triads
Ida and Papalino being probably in Ala Mhigo
Minfilia's destiny (did we finally get rid of her for good?)

They might all be connected ...

I still think hes 3.x's version of yugiri. However I stupidly skipped parts int the latest warring triad dungeon to see any unique abilities he uses. As far as the references to 12 and the nod to elidibus, yes those two are very connected. His story about how black auricite was used is very reminiscent of the zodiac braves and/or ff6 reference to magcite.

seeing as he mentioned being saved by his master last minute before dying, it's possible he might be Lahabrea.

though the triad thing is just a sidequest, so it might be someone else.

but thinking of Lahabrea, what was the actual goal of him and Elidibus teaming up with Thordan? and Lahabrea and igeyorhm appearing in the ARF?

Heh my moneys on Thancred changing sides soon enough. Pretty sure he values Minfilia over Hydaelyn and will do whatever it takes if there's a chance of separating them, consequences be damned.

I think it's unlikely that he's Lahabrea. At least, not unless Lahabrea has choked down a considerably large slice of humble pie. His personality is WAY different from Lahabrea's, far too polite and subtle.

Personally, I suspected that Unukalhai was Elidibus himself, having possessed the body of a child to prevent the Warrior of Light from guessing his true identity. The fact that he was introduced to us by Urianger, who we've seen in cutscenes to be conspiring with Elidibus, contributes to that theory. The only reason I think it might not be true is that it's just too darned obvious; there's gotta be a twist in there somewhere.

If Unukalhai is not Elidibus himself, I think it's fairly likely that his "Master" is Elidibus.
