As a PLD, this would make me very sad. Every job in the game (even healers and tanks) would feel obligated to snap up DPS-based cross-class abilities, because there are only a scant handful of must-have utility cross-classes (Provoke for tanks, Swiftcast for healers). Once the necessities are covered, it's far more important to meet those DPS checks, so even healers will start packing Blood for Blood.
PLD's selection of cross-class abilities does not include many that contribute to DPS, which makes them free to consider options like Stoneskin, Protect, and Raise. Stoneskin in particular comes in handy on numerous occasions, but I don't imagine I'd ever have it on my cross-class abilities if I had access to stuff like Raging Strikes and Internal Release.
It may seem odd to WANT to be restricted to abilities that are, at best, situational - but in my mind, these abilities contribute to PLD's motif as a defensive/supportive tank.
Blood for blood on an offtanking WAR would be insane <3
The "only" reason I semi-like this idea is with more cross-class options it "could" potentionally allow PLD's to "fix" there shortcomings (IE TP regen & an AoE that DMG's) that said at best I say make it a quest that unlocks only "ONE" more class for cross-class (& make it some insane request like: must be lv50-60 in both host and selected class & compleated X job quest in both to be selectable) at lest with just 1 added as a chooseable option it would at lest add more player-side options (even thou as stated most would go for a specific class for that favored ability... I still use raise on PLD as 5th slot cause f-u mercy stroke, this would just mean I'd pick MNK for Invigorate to replace Raise is all)
What some see as "distracted" is really "fathoming the unfathomable" - last words from an Ul'dahn Mercurial Chemister at the battle of Carteneau

I don't think raising the number of abilities you can cross class would be worth doing, but an increased pool would be nice. I'd love to have straight shot and goad on my BLM, it would open up the playstyle.
I know what I'd use in a heartbeat.
Blood for blood as a warrior...while tanking a mass pull. And holmgang is down.
I <3 you healers![]()
Personally I'd just give us traited versions of the skills and add all base skills of the 2 base classes we are locked into. Gives all jobs a plethora of options. I mean if we are locked into 2 sub jobs and we get the traited versions on those jobs themselves would we not qualify for them? Come on now.
Either that or allow us to cross class from any base class.
Until that happens the "cross-class" system will remain a joke only taking skills you feel are mandatory which implies no choice at all.
Make the player feel rewarded for leveling all those classes up.

I already showed on page 1 how it would look if we could cross class from any class with the current ability pool.
You really just end up filling your 5 slots with "mandatory" skills, rather than having one or two you can put freely (but never actually use, lolfeint!)

Wait so the current one is an illusion of choice but removing the restrictions wouldn't also be the same damn thing? People would find whatever the new mandatory cross class skills are and take those. It is the same damn thingPersonally I'd just give us traited versions of the skills and add all base skills of the 2 base classes we are locked into. Gives all jobs a plethora of options. I mean if we are locked into 2 sub jobs and we get the traited versions on those jobs themselves would we not qualify for them? Come on now.
