I will give you one thing, there is a mild reference of dragoon in there somewhere, but that's it. Hardly makes her a dragoon at all.Are you trying to insult me by changing the topic?
As posted in http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Dragoon
Final Fantasy XIII does not have a Job system, however Oerba Yun Fang uses several trademark Dragoon spears, can summon Bahamut as her Eidolon, and her full ATB skill "Highwind" allows her to perform a powerful Jump attack.
I'm actually surprised you acknowledge Kain for a Dragoon.
1) Where does the dragon come in? (Before you say Bahamut bear in mind that being able to summon Bahamut has never been a dragoon trademark, aside from this you have nothing)
2) Where is the dragoon lore?
3) She doesn't look like a dragoon (Not only because the trademark AF isn't present in the game, but she doesn't look like a knight of any sort)
4) She doesn't play like a dragoon (She has a spear that's it. She might have highwind, but her sphere grid has many times more Whm, Blm, and Pld skills. Dragoon is not a class she can chose, however sentinel is one of her strongest classes).
5) Where exactly are we told in the game that she is a drg?
She does not represent what we identify with dragoon. So tell me now, where are you going with this discussion? If you want to play as Fang I suggest that you play FFXIII.
Quick someone talk about Character vs Toon again.
i'm sorry i kinda have to disagree. any spear/polearm using character in the final fantasy series that is not called a dragoon directly always has some snipets around them that connect them to their dragoon legacy. nobody ever called cid in ff7 a dragoon. but his limit breaks were so obviously dragoon inspired that any fan could see the connection and the same is true for kilmari in ff10 and fang in ff13I will give you one thing, there is a mild reference of dragoon in there somewhere, but that's it. What I have shown you is reality. What you remember, that is the illusion.
Most of them that are not driectly called dragoon have at least to iconic DRG traits... use of a lance or polearm and the JUMP ability even if it is a limit break only jump it still counts...i'm sorry i kinda have to disagree. any spear/polearm using character in the final fantasy series that is not called a dragoon directly always has some snipets around them that connect them to their dragoon legacy. nobody ever called cid in ff7 a dragoon. but his limit breaks were so obviously dragoon inspired that any fan could see the connection and the same is true for kilmari in ff10 and fang in ff13
So in a way you are correct they are DRG so to say... granted it is different between people... the eye of the beholder as they say. You say they are DRG someone else may think they are not. I think they pretty much are but eh that is how I am...
The cat is amused for now... =>.>=
Yes, but in FFXIV we aren't playing the job snippets from drg, we are going to play the job dragoon. That means we have to fully identify with the image, lore and playing style of what we consider to be dragoon. I was just telling that other guy that Fang is not it.i'm sorry i kinda have to disagree. any spear/polearm using character in the final fantasy series that is not called a dragoon directly always has some snipets around them that connect them to their dragoon legacy. nobody ever called cid in ff7 a dragoon. but his limit breaks were so obviously dragoon inspired that any fan could see the connection and the same is true for kilmari in ff10 and fang in ff13
Edit: We = us who are going to play drg or with drgs

What we? or what you?
I see many of you humans do this from time to time... I'm sure you meant you and not we because I am sure you are speaking for yourself and not for all since it seems others think differently then you do... that is all I am saying...
On another note it is great you want to take all the DRG's and pull them together to make a DRG here but really for the most part it seems like all the "wyvern drg" group really wants is their FFXI DRG back with pet in tow... Is that true who knows I can't really speak for them all and I really wont since that was just my opinion based on observation of threads and I am sure not all of such people have posted on threads yet.
The cat is talkative =^o^=
its funny what you would and would not call a Dragoon..... Fang is a Dragoon, as is Cid, Kimari, Freya, Kain, and of the 4 from FFV that used the job, my character in FFXI, they where all Dragoons. Now which was better, that is something that is harder to decide, but looking at them all, the Dragoons that stayed closer to their true lore are the ones from FF II - X, and those are the types of Dragoons that need an online version, FFXI had its turn, now let the others........Yes, but in FFXIV we aren't playing the job snippets from drg, we are going to play the job dragoon. That means we have to fully identify with the image, lore and playing style of what we consider to be dragoon. I was just telling that other guy that Fang is not it.

But then you would be including a lot more people... I for one will play a drg since the two jobs I love are whm and drg so then are you saying you are speaking for me? Or do you mean you are speaking for the drgs that want pets as we?
I am trying to understand you here you see you humans have this great complex logical... erm or was that illogical thinking and wording... I'm sorry I really don't wish to insult you or any other humans its just well sometimes its like you don't really know what you want to say?? maybe that is it?
The cat is confused =?.?=
