Dragoon Poll (Should DRG have a Wyvern?)

well that's just the NA forums, id like to see the JP forums. Personally i would like to see a pet, especially because of how it could set WAR from DRG other then one jumps and the other doesn't. Also still too many people who only think of FFXI as an example and dont think out of the box. I love the idea that it could grow and become a DRG mount....i would kill for that...my partner in crime and my ride...hell yah.

have you not looked at past Dragoons? if FFXIV's version does not have a pet, it would then have some of the other classic Dragoon abilites, breaths, lancet, dragon magic, all those would set it apart from Warrior

Zanfire is one of those people who has the "FFXI Tunnel Vision". No point in trying to reason with him.

I think we have a sufficient poll sample to call it: The majority of players do not want Dragoon altered this late in development to have a pet. On top of that, doing a 180 in the middle of development of the jobs is going to delay patch 1.21.

I'm sure Yoshi-P doesn't want the entire player base mad at him; the same should go to the lot of you who continue to advocate for dragoon pets. Do you want to be ostracized as the "lolDRG" because you convinced Yoshi-P to change the job to something that has a negative social connotation to it simply because your demands delayed the f*cking patch?

I do disagree and hope that us wyvern lovers are able to have them again. This time not so useless/cute looking. If its just going to be old xi's wyvern then no I agree I don't want that at all. Give us our new wyvrens with intimidating looks, fun combos, and control over the scaley beasts.

Dragoon doesn't exist now, however the idea of Dragoon now is nothing new, so yeah, it is true, people don't want it to be anything new.

By the by: Did you know, Dragoon's Jump has always been Critical Based damage and had the same calculations as a critical hit in every game it appeared in?

The only reason a Dragoon would be 'weaker' with a pet is because the pet is being considered a part of the job instead of as a pet itself (which are pet jobs, Dragoon was never a pet job.) Balancing pet jobs isn't a nightmare on the development level -- It's a nightmare because as proven, the community is all over the place in ideals.

Since saying Dragoon is a pet job is the same as saying a RDM/SMN was a pet job.
