Why are there confirmation boxes in dungeon?

I know this is a minor issue, but it's something that has been there since ARR launch. What's the point of confirmation boxes asking if you wish to proceed or if you wish to press a switch?

Is there any instance where you would press no?

It's not even something consistent through the game, some dungeons let you press switches or open gates without confirmation boxes, but more often than not they decide to slap them to dungeons for no reason. It doesn't add any depth to the corridors we call dungeons.

My guess would be that you don't accidentally click it, because in some instances, you are attacked immediately by whatever is behind the door / gate / etc. (I think)

I can only think of a single instance of this, and that's in Haukke Manor (normal mode) when opening the door to the cell that has the Yellow Key in it. However, if you're off to the side enough, you're out of line-of-sight from the enemies and they don't agro you when you open the door. That means it's not a trigger from opening the door, but simply being within their sight radius.

Other than that, I can't think of any other case where an attack is triggered from activating an object in a dungeon. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Because I never play as a tank class, I very rarely have a chance to activate a door or anything like that, so I am not really sure.
I don't know if there is a confirmation box for opening this door or not, but in Dusk Vigil you do get attacked after opening a door before the 2nd boss.

I wonder why they do have confirmation boxes?

Sastasha normal coral switches. Can't say on other dungeons because I know those switches well from trying to get Foestriker's gear.

In Haukke Manor and Sastasha I could actually think of the simple reason that you do have a choice (Do you really want to open THIS door? - you're getting several keys and can open several doors, but dont have to open all of them; Do you really want to press THIS coral switch? - it could trigger the add, so you may want to think twice)

I do not understand why those confirmation box ones are liberally spread around praetorium. I can understand for the elevators, but it results in people dying at section teleports to allow everyone else to go through without getting canceled.

Well for one, believe it or not, these dungeons weren't designed with the idea of skipping all the fighting. :P

It's probably there in that case because using the switch actually physically moves you to another location... so say the group was actually fighting the enemies, and the healer accidentally tabbed and hit the switch.. with no confirmation button the healer would be wisked away. I know there's another healer there, but i'm just assuming this was the reason behind the confirmation boxes in this particular dungeon.
