    "FFXIV has stopped working" since windows 10 upgrade

    I never ever had this issue before, playing since 2.1.

    I don't know if it's the 3.3 patch or the windows 10 update (both installed on the same day). It happens 100 % random. No warning what so ever, could be in open world, dungeon, raid, loading screen, ... 100 % random.

    Anyone knows a fix?

    I also am running into this issue. Just upgraded to windows 10 and every single time I click the play button from the launcher (Both DX11 and DX9 versions) I get a "Final Fantasy XIV has stopped working" error.

    Not exactly sure what to do as I've checked to make sure my driver is up-to-date and even did a restart / reinstall driver to make sure.

    If you are using windows 10 Pro you should look into turning on "Deferred updates." Windows 10 forces you to get the latest updates and more than once they have had issues related to them. Deferred updates allows you to wait until an update has been unleashed on the public and any glaring mistakes are found and fixed.

    Same issue here. Since update game crashes as soon as i hit play. SE please advise.

    This is kinda scary. My free upgrade to Windows 10 (which I've been holding off on) expires at the end of July. But, why would I even think of upgrading if you can't play FFXIV on Windows 10.

    What's even worse is, why after all this time, has SE still not made FFXIV compatible with Windows 10?

    We aren't sure it's because of the Win10 or simply Patch 3.3.

    Would be nice if people that say "I have the error too" could also mention which OS they are using. :3

    I had this same problem happen on windows 7 so i don't think its isolated to windows 10

    I updated to windows 10 in an attempt to fix it but it hasn't changed a thing to these seemingly random crashes

    Is there any information on my end i can provide that would help this?

    in my case it's only since the latest patch 3.3 I've ever had errors.
    Ive been using windows 10 Pro since the first day it was available and have never experienced any faults or issues with the game until the 3.3 patch.

    the game does work for me in dx9 though but in dx11 it randomly stops working, crashes, even had the blue screen of death twice, though in windows 10 it has a big sad face on it instead of lots of random code.

    few friends have the same issues and again it's only since 3.3 landed that they started occurring and for the most part only occurs in dx11

    I did have to close and reopen the launcher after changing it to dx9. but for my friends and I running dx9 works and is problem free. so i'd say its a dx11 problem

    As an update to my issue -- I did have to uninstall and reinstall FFXIV, but it did work fine after that -- I haven't had any glitches in my normal play. So, I'm going to assume my instance was an issue of something weird with the upgrade process and not the FFXIV client itself.

    For reference, here's the basic machine stats:

    Windows 7 >> Windows 10
    GTX 970: 368.69

    Interesting Is there a way to save all your settings like HUD layout and keybinds?
