I understand the original reason they did what they did to BRD, but I've been saying for 3 years now, don't shoehorn the ranged Dexes into support, make us do less damage for reasons no longer valid to our job design/playstyle AND penalize us even more when we have to utilize our support abilities (especially when now, even the others offer party support of varying degrees.)

Wait, what? fflogs has either a bard or machinist in the top 10 parses for 3.3 on all Savage encounters except for Brute Justice (top bard for that encounter is 16). Played well, their dps really isn't that far behind anymore.

He won't DPS when he can at all. In another forum he said he goes /follow and has Selene heal the dungeon run and he buggers off.
The very least provide sources. Otherwise it's just slander. I'll help you out on this one, though:

As much as the proposal sounds nice, I think the playerbase as a whole needs a revamp.
I always end up comparing this to FFXI where pple helped each other because they knew they would be interacting with them long term somewhere in the future. Everyone was prepared for that and acted as such. And that in turned nurtured the younger less experienced players
The playerbase in XIV is quite alot of:
-ditch the instance if it doesnt meet your needs
-use PF for only i999 players who can 1 shot boss with you
    -boot the inexperienced

alot of diff. proposals can be implemented but if the playerbase itself does not give a nurturing environment, and rely too much on game reward mechanics, we wont go far.

rather than give bait and hope players latch on,
Basically tweak the question a bit to say:
What can be done so that less experienced players are not demotivated to improve themselves.

to go further on "keeping the party alive", helping kill stuff faster is a way to keep people alive.

Hey, sorry I never saw this post until now, so I'd like to reply to you. First of all we both have our ups and downs when we both discuss/argue againts each other, which is completely normal but I'm aware I can go too far in certain topics like these. I know he has opinions and I'm completely fine with them, it's the fact he disagrees with people and make put words in peoples mouth and then make up things we never said to him. To me thats like, what you said... silence someone's else's opinion. I will always try to see and understand peoples point and look into them, then I make my own arguement againts them. However it's very hard to do so when he completely is in denial of what other says, especially things he tell people but say he never told them in the first place. However, I'm not going to say something againt's you because you just have a opinion on how I talk or speak in these forums and I'm completely fine with it, because you never made up anything in the first place, you just say things you see.

    Back to the topic:
I'd like to see good players get more rewards, because this will pay them off for trying to be better each time they do. I don't know excactly what and how, but it might encourage people to try be better. If peopel think it's unfair, start and think a little bit how you play around others and how unfair it is for them to do more than they should, so you can get things done.
I completly understand some people learn slower than others, but that's not the point. Some people don't even try at all and this is what this topic and other is about.

Yeah but if they believe it than they won't be able to complain as much about their dps as they always have.

    There is a saying that people would benefit from remembering;

"You catch more flies with honey, than with vinegar."

If people were not so focused on labeling others and punishing so-called 'bads', perhaps they'd realize that helping others at a pace that works for them is far, far more productive.
