Does game have Chinese?

Hello everyone, I'm kinda new to the game (used to play something like 4 years ago I belive, pre-reborn, pre-jobs)
Anyway I was wondering if the game supports chinese, my wife saw it and she said she'd like to play too, but her english is not very good and she'd rather not play than use english.
I searched around and most of the answers were very old.
and I cannot find the change language settings in game either.
Any help?

There's a Chinese version of the game, but their servers are on their own. They cannot play with English, French, German, and Japanese language clients.
If you'd like to play with her, you'd either both have to use the Chinese client (and possibly live in China? I don't know the restrictions), or keep up with English (or French, German, Japanese).

Not 100% sure but we have a FC member with a Chinese client i believe (sometimes hear the cs in chat, lol) and she is on a NA server, Leviathan.
Her husband also in our FC has a English client.
They live in Cali, not China.
I do not know all the specifics unfortunately. Hopefully someone can confirm 100%

The Chinese client is published and run by a different company, Shanda Games, and works only on their servers, not on Square Enix's servers. Whereas SE's client runs on the JP, NA, and EU servers that SE operates, and can be set to either Japanese, English, French, or German. So no, unfortunately they cannot work together on the same world.

She probably has a Chinese font pack installed and that's what you're seeing. ^^

Maybe there's like an unofficial patch I can apply? I'm trying to convince her to try english but she's reluctant and she doesn't want to play the chinese version for god know what reason... I would really love for her to start playing the game so she can stop being a filthy casual phone gamer.

If there is such a patch, and I wouldn't be too surprised about one existing, discussion of that surely would not be allowed here. Try asking on Reddit, https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv or researching on your own.

The in-game chat allows Unicode characters, so Chinese kanji and so forth likely display just fine without any modification. But yeah, the actual Chinese client is a totally separate product with some political differences.
