So I main Dragoon but I'm curious about Archer/Bard as well. How in-demand is it in groups at endgame (think Nidhogg Extreme) ?

On my world brd/mch are the jobs whose demand is highest. When you open the party finder it's very rare not to see someone looking for a ranged for trials ex or to fill a spot in a static.
Ahh fellow Leviathan
I also always see at least 1 Bard or machinist in every group. Less machinists now though.
I think recent changes to Bard even if it may seem small to some have got players back into playing it some more
I always wanted to play a Mch and gear it up but lately i've been playing my main Drk a lot and DPSing as my Drg my mch is sadly only ilvl 215 but hopefully next week in Mhach and farming Midas normal and doing A5S/A6S I can get some lucky drops. Typically I see a bard it's rare that I see Mchs, as a fellow leviathan player Brds i see more in PFs Mchs are a rare breed indeed.
Also hai!
I thought this was kinda funny.

Lmao xD.
On a serious note, I'm playing BRD and I find it pretty funny and challenging, weaving so many stuff in so little time requires some reflexes, definitely enjoying it far more than the BLM, at least BRD doesn't have bull**** stances to keep and its DPS doesn't feel like a porcelain figurine that can break even with the slightest breeze...
In party finder on my server, I always find BRDs in a group because the healers/casters need them for either mage's ballad or foe requiem. I try my best to keep my stats in check before joining any farming groups because they want that high DPS; if your deeps is low, it's an automatic boot.
[super inactive on this Forum LOL]
It's very in demand since the game is designed around every single raid group having a bard or mch. Just how much demand depends on your server. Watch the pf to see how much of a shortage or abundance of bard there are. So that answers that question but I'm not sure what it's like to play it in raids
