Well they did just say it in the Live Letter...........
However, people seem to be getting hung up on the Thf is a job part. Fair enough, if they do as Yoshi suggested then it will probably be a less obvious name but still basically be Thief to fit the class naming scheme, and then the job will be Ninja, problem fixed. I know there are a lot of Thief purists, but it would fit with past FF series lore. Im pretty damn sure there were Ninja that had "steal" in a couple of FF titles.

They implied a while ago that we could get secondary jobs for each class at some point, GLA >THF makes sense to me, I don't see where the GLA wears heavy armour arguement comes into it, gear should be chosen on optimal stats for the class/job.

GLA30 + PGL15 = THF can only use daggers and some short swords.

I also agree that CNJ could do with getting something more than justs healing, Summoner makes sense.

in most Final Fantasy games Thief unlocked Ninja and Assassin. So we will see how things go. I honestly do not care if its a class or job as long as I can be a Thief I have no complaints.

but wouldnt you want to be Thief as a Job? Job specific gear, and weapons? all content being released in the future is geared towards party and jobs? Thief as a class wouldnt make the cut.

i understand what your getting at. Thief and ninja are a bit similar, but that doesnt mean Thief should be its class.

Thief needs to be a Job and not a class. How can Thief be class if classes revolve around weapons, and thief is "a way of life"?
