    and your forgeting Archer is going from a DD long range shooter to a Mid range Musical player.
    FFXI was the only game I can think of that hard bards be a pure buffer. Everquest, NWN, and Rift all had bards in a support/DPS role. And where do you get "mid range" from? Seems like you're just making up stuff.
    Gladiator -> Thief. makes sense.
    It makes more sense than Conjurer or Thaumaturge -> Thief, I'll give you that. It makes more sense than Culinarian -> Thief. But it makes less sense than any of the other Disciples of War. Yes, even Marauders are more likely to become thieves based off the story than Gladiators are.
    also making thief a class would ruin it all. there wouldnt be no thiefs in parties since its a class, and this games best content would need to be proceeded with Jobs.
    So wait, wait. You're telling me the "thief" tag is so important that you wouldn't want to go with the "ninja" tag, even though Ninja would have everything "thief" would have, plus more? That seems kinda... silly.
    Thief cant be a class. Class = weapon, and thief has always been the main Staple Job of most final fantasies.
    Glad to see you decided to agree with me at the last second for some reason. Thief, seeing as it's always been either the starter or one of the earliest-accessed classes/jobs in Final Fantasy, should be a starter class. Heck, on three occasions the Thief actually upgrades to Ninja, and in one case there's a ninja who, by profession, is also a thief.
    Incidentally, the only time a class actually upgrades into a thief is... Archers in FFT.
    Lastly, there are other times when people are marked as thieves (Rikku, who uses H2H combat, and Balthier, who starts off with a rifle), but that just leans towards either pugilists or "thief" being more of a lifestyle than a combat style.

    So the Final Fantasy precedent is:
    Archers can become thieves.
    Thieves can become ninjas.
    Being a thief isn't necessarily a combat style, more of a lifestyle.

    Yes, this! Being a rogue is a way of life.

    No Gladiator makes more sense being a Thief than a Marauder. Dagger, Dual weild? or Great Axe?

    That aside, all im saying is Thief should be a Job, and not a class. It doesnt make sense for Thief to be a class. It doesnt matter if Thief had Maurauder for its class, or even Pugilist. All i care about is Thief not being a class, its degrading.
    Im sure players want thief as a Job. you would get Job specific Gear (artifact) and such.

    Ninja can have all the Sneak attack stuff, thats not the point. The point is Thief has been a staple Job, and should stay as one.

    it can be (suggestion)

    Ninja (job) Dual Weild mastery trait.
    Parivir (class) ---->
    Samurai (job) Double Hand trait (holds katana with 2 hands)

    Ninjas can have ninjutsu, and dual weild mastery.

    Samurais can unlock defensive and offensive auras through weapons. Samurais should also have the double hand trait to hold the Katana with both hands to maximize striking.
    didn't patch 1.19 make all daggers dated? And of all the new weapon recipes I don't think any of them are daggers

    I think a lot of people who used to enjoy playing NIN want an evasion tank of some kind because pug is not great for it right now. Personally idm whether it's NIN or what but eva tank was always my fav in ffxi. Learning what they did from ffxi NINs it could be a lot more fun to play aswell, rather than just relying on Utsusemi.

    Gladiator to THief? Lol no thanks.

    Its not hard to implement a new smaller blades for a new class. Thief could always use Stiletto Blades. Thief > Ninja makes sense, Gladiator > Thief = wtf?

    That is good to hear that they mentioned Thief again. I really think it was weird to not have a Thief class in a mainline Final Fantasy game.

    Maybe they could even use a tantō or kunai as their main weapons.

    Archer = Bard WTH!

    besides Thief is a job, not a class. Thief/Gladiador looks better dual weilding Daggers then having a katana.

    let ninja be ninja, and thief be thief.

    Yeah, let's just stick to class/job combos that make sense, like Archer to Bard.
