What even is Cid's NA accent?

While I like some of the HW ENG voice actors/actress, I do fear what will happen in 4.0. If in 4.0 the ENG gets a new cast again, then I will probably change to the Japanese voices. Playing FFXIV HW and hearing the cast with new voices was very weird and took me out of the game. A voice and character should stick toghter, can you imagine someone else being the voice actor of Aymeric? I know, I will be gutted, if they replace his voice actor in 4.0.

I also did not like how sneaky SE was, in most games and cartoons/anime its known that when a character voice is being changed, they address this ahead of time.

The only reason for the change was SE switching to a VA company in London (Reason why is beyond me.) So unless they decide to switch to another company again, you have nothing to worry about.

Letting Sean Bean voice act for Cid is basically saying that Cid will die in 4.0.

Oh boy here comes the Japanese voice acting is better than English.... When I hear Japanese voice acting hurts my ears then makes me cringe too much.

This actually happened to me this weekend. Popped in Atelier Sophie, put on the Jap VA (since I've liked most the Atelier games Japanese voices), but 1 scene in and I was like Nope. No, thank you. That was the most unpleasant voice I've heard in a while.

I think the reason why the VA is horrid is more or less do to with how they are writing the dialog. There has been a lot of Old English style text, now when you have that and ask your VA have to fit that style as well as fit the character, things get odd. Like why does Teledji have a deeper voice than Regula Hydrus? There is a lot of questions involving the VA in this game.

Everyone has their own opinion.. I love the HW VAs. EXCEPT Raubahn and Admiral. Omg why?

@Jet_Stream: Although I don't like Regula's voice either, I don't mind the lala voices after a period because I remember that they can have really deep toned voices lol. Like in character create. So it's.. technically possible for a lalafell to have a deeper voice than another race.

Krile and the 2.0-.55 Sultana both had deeper toned voices than Yda!(I hate her voice)
