No! - Those are Game choices not avatar ones, they are changing how we look, not the content we have. So these should not happen at all.

If you want that memorial thing in citys (related to starting city not GC)
I'd be well up for two memorials those who fought and those who died, now that would be epic.

That would actually be pretty interesting. Where we'd all "die" and have the choice to reincarnate back as what we were or something different (of course keeping our levels, achievements, and items/gear like Yoshi promised). That way it would actually make in-game sense. It would also take away that odd concept that changing gender is any different than changing race.

To me a death is the easiest and most obvious rout for Rerolling characters.

if you chose to stay with your current model then perhaps you dont die, your picked up and carried off to town by moogles or something to be rehabilitated.

Also consider this:
there is supposed to be disasters and such to explain the changes to the zones. Well any huge disaster requiring re-growth (trees/Gridania) and re-building is going to take a large amount of time.
during this time your character would theoretically age and be in capable of fighting anyway needing you to take control of a new character.

Why would changing gender be more shocking than changing over to a whole different race? Can somebody please explain this to me? Both fall completely outside of in-game logic in the same way.

You know, the whole "changing gender" thing is actually doable in real life (albeit it's greatly stigmatized for no good reason), not to mention doable to some extent given Eorzea's tech level—the worshipers of Cybele, for instance, existed during Greco-Roman times, and they're hardly the only real-life historical examples of this. So I honestly don't understand that "changing race is more believable than changing gender" thing I've seen people spout in this thread—then again, I'm not exactly living as the gender I was assigned at birth, so I guess I necessarily see gender as being more fluid than most people would.

Personally, I think that gender should absolutely be on the list of things you can generally reroll, along with obvious stuff like face/hair, name, and I'll also say race should be something you should generally be able to reroll too, because it's a magical fantasyland where you could easily say "it's magic" as a way to handwave it away.

No. We were warned multiple times this is a one time decision (currently).

Everything else I don't see a problem with. Personally, I would like to change the birthday of my character because I messed it up the first time around.

I agree with both statements, Aistaraina. I think we were given plenty of warning that your choice of Grand Company would be final.

But I think we should have the opportunity to change the rest.

I also messed up my birthday, not understanding how the Eorzean calendar worked. That's something I'd like the opportunity to change.

What Bayohne is asking/talking about now, is about changes being allowed AFTER our free "change everything about our characters"-ticket. He's asking if race/gender/name changes should be allowed after that. If people want to change again.

Perhaps I wouldn't have to explain this every page if people would read the thread. ^^;

I was merely highlighting the fact that people will get one more chance to 'get it right' so to speak.

Personally, I dont think purchasing re-rolls yet retaining stats should be allowed.

A Jewellery box to swap in/out earrings, zodiac stones - Hairdressers for hairstyles - 'Alchemical' solutions to remove scars, and reduce the effects of natural healing to show them off.

These things can be implemented into the game.

reroll everything else but grand company and original city-state. i WOULD say grand company and original city-state, but i have a reason not to lol.

I feel like the game is changing drastically at 2.0, we should get to too.

I'm going to say no to the Grand Company and original city-state because i can see there being confusion amongst the completed quests and story lines. I don't think that would be a simple switch, so i wouldn't want them to waste their time just so i could come from another city-state which to me seems almost aesthetic (which yes, is important to ppl but...). you'd prolly have to redo the quests line. as for the grand companies... they did warn us, but i guess it depends on how much these companies change. if by 2.0, maybe it would be a good idea to restart your grand company once. but i am assuming not.

I personally don't want to "reroll" my character but I do believe that players should be able to change their Gender, Facial Features, Race, and Name. One time only. I however do not believe that they should be able to change their guardians or their birthdays.

I know I wish to remake my character if the options suite that I like, and I know PLENTY other people who would love to change their names and races as well as gender. By not even adding a micro transaction they are missing out on some much needed revenue. Please understand I support a first time free just the ones after they pay. By not allowing this they are merely going back and setting themselves up again to fail by losing players again.(I admit not most will be this extreme but still).

So please understand our desires SE you change everything on us, allow us to change with it.
