Yep thats pretty much it, "Delsus Lionheart" OK Midlander hume Average hight and weight, Lancer by trade, WTH are they breasts, meh lets just superglue a tail on and he can be a mutated miq'ote NEXT!!!How about the 7th umbral era kills everyone except a few people who train in the art necromancy and ressurect the people killed but it goes wrong.
One "Hulan Temet", check, let's see... Male, Hume, average height, average weight, armorer by trade. Hmmm, are those cat ears? Well, close enough; Next!
it doesnt need an explanation lol. its just players switching, and not NPC's. yoshida is looking way too into this.

It is not odd at all, I could see how it would be if you look at it in a critical sense. But changing from one race to another is no different really than changing sex as well especially since it only effects appearance in the game. Plus your loyal players want this option so it should be a given. Like I said in a previous post I kind of regret changing my characters at the beginning and if I have the option to change it back to what I originally started as, race/sex/name I will likely gladly take the option rather than losing all my 50 classes just to play a different race. We have stuck with the game through thick and thin for a year so I see this as good option for them to help show gratitude for our loyalty to FFXIV.Just wanted to clarify just a tiny bit: The comment from Yoshida during the LIVE video was mainly geared toward being able to change gender, specifically. Not so much about being able to change race. He was talking about changing from a Roegadyn male to a Miqo'te male being relatively understandable ("hey you lost weight!") but that it might be shocking to go from Roegadyn male to a Lalafell female.![]()
It was vague in our Twitter post about it, so I'm hoping to dispel the misinformation now.
My only concern is if i can change my gender, race and name, and so can my friends... how will we find each other and know who one another is?
I'm too lazy to write much on my own, so I'll just +1 this. Especially the "ONE TIME" part. When this game launched I decided I was going to play a female Avatar. I hate the way Elves look in this game, I did not want to look like a 5 year old girl (Lalas) and I didn't want to join the Manthra army. That left Human as the only option. Had I been given the option of Roeg female or Highlander female I would have chosen one of them hands down, mainly because I have played a million and a half human characters in mmos.
When New Race/Gender Combos come I am not saying I will outright quit. But if I am not given at least a once time Race & Gender change I will at least be contemplating on whether or not I want to continue to spend time here when you don't give those of your players who played the game through the flop launch the same options as new players who didn't spend time, playing what was essentially a 1 year beta extension.
I do not think its asking too much for those loyal players to be given a ONE TIME race/gender swap.
You'd probably still be on their social list and barring that, I doubt linkshell rosters would change.
Could also tell them what you plan to make your character/name them beforehand =P
I've said this in other threads, but we've already been promised a one time "change everything about your character" in the 2.0 notes.
On-topic: After our one time change I would like to see race AND gender changes made available for a cost.
I would also like to see name chages, but perhaps more limited (and for a cost) - perhaps only once.. OR if name changes are allowed more often, make a way to see what the character's old name was for a month or two, to stop drama issues. I have one character I would really like to rename - don't like her name as much as I thought I did, but I really don't want to restart her.
Please please please allow us to change everything about our characters! People make mistakes or bad decisions or change their minds. To me someone changing drastically wouldn't seem strange at all because they could just as easily start a new character. Also... I wouldn't notice most people changing anyway, only friends. So it wouldn't seem like much changed.

hell yes please! Espeically if there are some possible new "looks" for 2.0 we where really jipped and somewhat lied too about the extent of the character creation available to us at the start of the game. The options are really rather lackluster and behind the times for a modern MMO very few hair styles/addons and no real frame/muscular build differences. Being able to adjust the height and some minor facial structures isnt a character creation by todays standards...... can we get some Long hair for Roegs while yer at it too. I also think they should change names to 1 word only . While it seemed nice on paper its cumbersome for sending tells etc....
well here's how i see it. with the big ol hootenanny that the 7th umbral era is going to be, The game world radically changing ect. I see this as a perfect catch all for radical changes to player characters.Just wanted to clarify just a tiny bit: The comment from Yoshida during the LIVE video was mainly geared toward being able to change gender, specifically. Example r.p conversation,
>>Hey Bayohne didn't you use to be a malboro?
< <funny thing about that, Remember when the _______________________________?
>>yea who wouldn't?
<<Well apparently i was in a bad spot, all i remember is a bright light, a really weird dream. and i woke up like this.
>>really? that's kind of weird.
<<Tell me about it, i don't remember much about the dream but i swear up and down that i was a dodo for a little while there.

WOW and other MMOs allow you to change races for a one-time fee. I don't see why FFXIV wouldn't allow it, especially with the launch of 2.0 it should come along. We know this section is viewed more than the feedback section. Yoshi asked for our feedback on remaking characters, and I know a lot of you want to. They're remaking the entire game, so "like" this post if you want to be able to do any of the following without losing the rest of your data:
Change your character's name.
Change your character's birthday or patron god.
Recreate your character from the select screen.
Recreate your character from the select screen as a new race or gender.
Change your character's starting city.
Change your character's Grand Company.
Commence discussion as you are so prone to do.
Edit 1:
It seems to me like there is an underlying issue about ethics or other strange personal views that is going over my head culturally. A reroll is a reroll. The point is, everything we based our starting decisions off of is changing because the game itself is fundamentally changing, so if the game is changing that drastically then people should be able to change their characters as well.
