    quality of life macro thought

hay all i just came back from a long absence to ffxiv and i was going threw and resting up all my macros and classes and had a thought that would be really nice to have.

so for me i use swift cast a lot but i don't want to sit there and have 20 /macroicons of swiftcast sitting on my bars and because i use a controller id rather not bother with having to waist a slot for swiftcast its self to just know when its cool downs up.

so id love to se a comand added alond the lines of /macrotimer or /macrocooldown to beadded.

    so insted of
    /macroicon "swiftcast"
    /ac "swiftcast" <me> <wait.1>
    /ac raise <t>

    you could do
    /macroicon "raise"
    /macrotimer ((60 or "swiftcast"))
    /ac "swiftcast" <me> <wait.1>
    /ac "raise" <t>

this way you get the icon you want on your bar and can have the longest cool down in the macro for its recast timer. especially to reduce things a little for controller players since i like to keep as few swap bars as possible in a fight.

If you go into your HUD you can highlight Hotbar 1 to activate it. There you can shrink it and place it anywhere in your UI. I placed mine above my Chat log. I think this should solve your issue.

that is an option. i just don't like cluttering things with bars everywhere either and id find it nicer to be able to just have a proper cool down on my macro with out it locked to the icon i choose. dun know if that makes since or not. some times it's hard for me to make my point well. dyslexia is a pain >.< but thank you for the pointer.

I doubt this'll happen - their stance on macros is that anything that might automate parts of your job is bad, which I agree with.

As a side note, I recommend using Extended Crossbars. As someone who has played with a controller since day 1, extended crossbars allow even my SCH (which has the most abilities out of any class I play) to have everything neatly organised over three crossbars (crossbar 1 for healing, crossbar 2 for DPS, extended crossbar for buffs and pet management).

this would not automate anything basically the gray timer that shows up and clocks around the icon when you'v used it would have a speed of your choosing not auto recasting it.
