Please make the Lightning Event gear available from the Recompense Officer.

At some point in time(I don't even remember why or when) I threw out some of the rewards from the Lightning event way back when. At the time I thought nothing of it because I assumed that if I ever wanted any of it I could simply repurchase it from the Calamity Salvager. The other day when I actually did want one of the pieces I learned that this was not the case. These items are impossible to get back without buying them on Mogstation. I have tried to contact support however they will not help me nor allow me to contact a GM. I don't disagree that I probably shouldn't have thrown them out, but either way it's ridiculous that I cannot re-obtain items that I am entitled to from an event that I had completed when quite literally every other event item in the game can be reclaimed from the Salvager or Recompense Officer.

Yeah, I never got the Minfilia or Thancred minions back during the event they were available even though I was present for that event and completed it, because I didn't know about them + didn't realize they were being sold by some out-of-the-way vendor as opposed to actually being rewarded during the event.

Just gotta suck it up, unfortunately. I sure as hell am not paying for rewards obtained during an event I was present for.

I actually got the rewards, and had them for a long time. I still have most of the pieces. There's no reason why I shouldn't be able to reclaim rewards that I have had previously and got rid of for one stupid reason or another when you are able to do so for every other event.

Why would you throw them away when you could've just tossed them into the armoire in the inn room?

You could always try to make a support ticket to get those items restored, but you'd probably need a bit of luck.

Well, by that same logic, I did the event and therefore I feel like I should be able to obtain the rewards (since the system AFAIK goes by quest completion in this case: you did the quest, you are able to purchase the rewards after the fact). But since, seemingly arbitrarily, these rewards were vendor-bought instead of part of the quest rewards, they are not available to me. We both messed up, just in different ways.

You aren't gonna be helped here because they'd rather have you paying money at the cash shop for your blunder, just like in my case.

Then by the same logic you guys are going by the NPC to rebuy gear should just be removed. I agree it was a mistake to throw them out, but that is the entire purpose of having a NPC for the EXACT reason why I am asking that these items be added to it, no? Forgetting or neglecting to buy something from a vendor is not the same situation. You never actually possessed the items.

I know the salvager sell event items, but do they sell any of the special event items? there's been a few special events when promoting games (not sure if there's been other special ones). All I know is that the salvager sell the items from planned events that happen every year. So maybe the special 1 of a time events (well, lighting repeated 2-3 times) doesn't qualify as the same and there for not being sold.

And like someone said, now when people have had their voices heard and the Lighting is now on the Mog Station I don't think they will appear for ingame purchases.

As far as I'm concerned, I was there for the event, I did the event. The only reason I didn't get the items was because they were arbitrarily hidden on a vendor I didn't even know about until after the fact. Likewise, the only reason you can't get your tossed items now is because they arbitrarily chose not to make those available on the salvager npcs.

I'm not saying that these items shouldn't be put on the salvager npcs. I'm saying that they aren't going to because SE would much rather make more money off the two of us.

I think what he meant is that they weren't tacked onto the quest completion reward and instead you'd have to go find a separate vendor to get it.

Its like how the emote from the latest Gold Saucer event was a quest reward and not something you'd have to get from a separate npc.
