    Quest to Cuteness!

Hello everyone! I am a new player, scholar-to-be, looking for some pointers to help me reach my in-game goals!

    - I heard there were sparkly pink weapon skins. What are they and when could I start working to attain them?
    - My character is fat as heck right now. I blame my ugly armor. When can I start getting some cuter clothes? Dresses come to mind. I love dresses.

    Thanks in advance!

If I have the description correct, those pink weapons are probably the crafted moogle weapons, which you can get from the Market Board, or get it crafted from some rather expensive materials.

As for dresses, could start with maybe the High House set, it's not too bad looking, along with maybe the maid set if you want to take advantage of the Amazon promotion going on.

To see what you like, you can check the market board under "body" and right click anything you see that might be of interest, and use the "try on" option to see how your character will look like, and go from there!

    Happy hunting xD

you can start glamouring your armor/weapon at level 50. If you have no character that is at that level and can't accept the quest, there's no reason for you to bother at the moment. Sparkly weapons are the old relic weapons (acceptable at level 50) the new relics (level 60), the primal weapons (50 - 60), the craft able primal weapons (50). Most of them can be dye'd. There are sometimes events that give cute clothes (dresses, kimono's, swimsuits, seasonal, cash shop, exclusives) but they never come with weapons, except the lightning event 2 or 3 years ago. These are for level 1 characters, but again, that means you have to have a level 50 to be able to do the unlock quest for glamour before you could use it on your lower levels.

    Welcome Magi! ^-^

Although Luna is totally correct about the glamour system only being unlocked at level 50, that doesn't mean you can't get around in cute couture outside of duty! Use the gearsets to swap in a 'glamour set' of cute clothing while having another set dedicated to your 'battle' gear until you can unlock the glamour system.

As for what to wear, for dresses there are quite a few choices - some of my favourites are:

Spring Dress and Spring Skirt - early 1800's Regency-style gown and skirt that is dyeable.
Rivieria Dress - late 1700's style dress with a corset and poofy sleeves that is dyeable (this is the dress worn by many npc Limsa Lominsan women)
Rainbow Bustle and High Houses Bustle - late 1800's Victorian style bustle dress. The High Houses version is identical in design to the Rainbow Bustle but is dyeable
The three wedding dress variations - late 1800's style formal dresses. The two paid versions are dyeable, but sadly the free version is not
Valentione's Apron Dress and Valentione's Skirt - cute lolita-style maid's dress that is dyeable.
Housemaid's Apron Dress - a longer (but still cute) maid's dress that is more in keeping with Gothic-lolita fashion in style
Bridesmaid's Dress - cute early 1900's Edwardian style dress that is dyeable.

For the above, the Spring Dress/Skirt, Rainbow Bustle and High Houses Bustle are crafted and therefore purchasable on the Market Board, the Riveria Dress is bought with MGP from a vendor at the Gold Saucer, the wedding dresses are gained through the wedding ceremony quest 'The Ties That Bind' (with the dyeable ones gained through the premium paid ceremony plan), the Valentione's Dress was formerly gained through a past Valentine's Day event but is now bought on the Mogstation, the House Maid's Dress was part of the special cross promotion with Amazon/7-11 (which is only available to US and Japanese players at the moment), and finally the Bridesmaid's dress is bought from a vendor at the tailor in Ul'dah's main street.

Either way, hopefully this has been a help.

We(the people who try to provide friendly answers here on this forum) dont usually point this out to new players, but you accidentally stumbled on to one of the games greatest secrets Magi. So... try to keep this quiet. All this talk of savage raids and extreme primals and such? All a lie. The TRUE end game is trying to find the perfect outfit to complete your look. Glamour life!

For your weapon, you can't get any cuter than the Munificent Mogtome Not only does it look like a moogle, it makes cute moogle sounds when you open and close it. It is unique/untradeable so you will have wrestle with the Good King Moggle Mog and his troupe to get it. But you will very likely find this fight to be one of the most infectiously adorable and fun fights in the whole game.

The crafted version is the Munificent Moggle Mogtome. Not to be confused with the first. This one is stronger and when it is unsheathed it glows with rainbow colored musical staffs and notes! You can just buy this one, but it is crazy expensive due to the difficulty of acquiring the materials to make it.

Oh and bonus: These books look good with just about any dress.

Welcome to Eorzea! I hope you have many awesome journeys in the days to come.
