if this does somehow get put in, i might end up lvling drg past 34. then theres the bs argument from others " If drg gets a pet that helps you, why cant we get one too for our class"

I wager the Tanks would love to have their mounts as battle companions. Which makes a ton of sense IMO.

That video explains that in FF games the Dragoons fight dragons, fight alongside dragons (having a dragon as companion), and/or use a dragon as a mount.

There are two ways about this.

Yes, since dragoons need help since they are always on the floor.

No, they have enough problems trying to stay off the floor. A pet won't help.

Jokes aside, I'm against this. They are already balanced with what they have and they should leave a pet for another class they can release down the road.

I think a few of you are not quite getting what I meant. Idea was having this proposed Wyvern companion acting JUST LIKE the chocobos we have now. Summoned with an item to assist you in open-world content for fun. Not changing DRG to a pet class. No no. Lawdie no. Just something fairly minor and inconsequential.

This isn't FFXI and it shouldn't be, if you want to play a DRG with a pet play FFXI. This is a totally different game and as soon as you start applying changes like your asking every single class would want one or it would appear to be favoritism towards one class even if it's just a glamor.

So ppl would say why does DRG get an item for different companions when every other class/job does not. You would need to add a level system for that companion just like chocobos, then people would want armor just like chocobos.

Sorry but this is unsound and not a very well thought out idea, you played FFXI missed your wyvern so now you want one in FFXIV no thank you.

You don't see all the work and time they would need to put aside for just this. It would push content, events etc back, just because you have nostalgic feeling for your wyvern from FFXI.

i really don't think that works in XIV lore though, looking at it as a seperate game from xi. a battle companion other than chocobos would be cool but then SE wouldn't be able to push new barding, not that i would complain since i never use barding. Personally though, i feel like in xiv each class should get something unique. I play tank all the time but would love if other classes got specific mounts too. and would prefer if other classes got their own companions. because as it stands if you want to devote your time to playing DRK, you get rewarded with a really cool mount (though its encouraged to switch tank jobs by them sharing gear). But if i wanted to devote my time to being the best dragoon, do all the raids as dragoon, i dont really have anything to show for it. no mount, no minion. same as a caster.

i want something to make sticking with a job feel rewarding and make your character a bit more unique. To ride some gargantuan voidsent into battle and for others to think "that guy must be a damn good black mage by now"

They could always branch off to Wyvern Knight or something like that.

So you'd have DRG by itself OR Wyvern Knight which is a pet job.
