Other MMOs are complete games. XIV 1.x is the skeleton of a game coming out in a year.

Then don't pay and wait for 2.0? I for one am happy with the (admittedly minimal) content we currently have. I still have 2 Ifrit weapons to obtain, stronghold gear and NM's to obtain/down, and 3 more classes to take to 50.

And by the time I get anywhere close to finishing all that, 1.21 will come out, putting more on my plate.
