How long does it take for character avatars to update?

I didn't realize how freaky this eyepatch and hairstyle made my character looks as an avatar, just changed it a few days ago, but hes still there

Anyone got a hookup on etas?

I;m rather curious as well. Sometimes I log out on a different class overnight and find the avatar change to that while I'm back on BLM in game.

Pretty sure it's manual or at least it's quite delayed (sorry for vagueness, but hard to test!).

But if you click "Settings" in the top right, then "Edit Character" that seems to force an update.

Yeah I already tried that, but no dice maybe it has to do with me living in the west coast?

Sometimes it takes 24 hours and other times, it can take up to 7 days.

There are times when my avatar changes to what my character is currently wear then it changes back to the previous version of the avatar... >x>

Yeah, the Lodestone character can take as quick as an hour and as long as 24 hours. The Forum image takes as quick as 3 days to up to a week for it to change. I think both sites have a set refresh rate when it comes to the images.

That eyepatch is cool. Don't hate on the eyepatch!

I also always put on an outfit I want my character to wear before I log off so my avatar look cool. Don't want to be caught dead in my gathering gear since they are still in leveling stages.

I've found that it varies, and that a lot of times things look better in game than in your avatar. If you like your look in game, sometimes you just have to go with it.

It has taken mine days to change before, particularly when I'm really excited about the update.
