I want the chocobo to be a unique all around mount and if they really need to implement these mob mounts, they should implement them in form of a quest or for beastmaster. Implementing the magitec armor which I really like should be risky enough.
Please no uber drastic changes for this game and its atmosphere. The basement is great and it will be awesome with the coming changes up to 2.0.
Edit:
QUIZ TIME:
How are you able to use an aggro MOB as a mount?
Beastmaster.
But seriously, who said these mounts will only be available for player which keep playing?

They can work if there done right, for example, LNC/DRG could ride drakes easily, because of how DRG and Dragon Knights are about, and that is usually either killing or taming dragons, perhaps a possible BST/Tamer? class could ride any, as part of thier role of taming mobs, and other classes and jobs can ride small ones they can intimidate easily.
This could work well, but it has to be done right or it will fall flat on it face.
Oh my goodness, what a smart solution for the problem at hand! I bet people all over the world are falling on their knees and thank you for this revelation!
Oh, wait, it's not about riding them at all. It's about seeing others ride them and thus taking away from the current style and atmosphere of Eorzea. My bad.
I don't know, I'll probably stick with chocobos for land travel. If I have to travel across water it might be a different story.
I know they're adding content for swimming, so something to travel across water quicker would be nice. something not a boat of course.
Maybe... A blue chocobo?![]()
Lol, I bet he lately got his no shit sherlock license.Oh my goodness, what a smart solution for the problem at hand! I bet people all over the world are falling on their knees and thank you for this revelation!

I find the whole mount ordeal to be a little too much, depending on how they implement it. I have mixed feelings about the wyvern, and only bad feelings about the Gobbue and the Ahriman. The magitek mount has my clear go though.
If people are going to hop a lot that's one gripe, but let alone countless of odd mounts in all shapes and sizes running around. Although I don't have any real complaint, it's more of a bad feeling, since all in the end comes down to how and if they implement this.
I'm in favor of Beastmasters taming mobs to ride into battle, but I don't think just anyone should be able to whistle and summon a Goobbue to ride..
As this is currently just a concept, I hope Yoshi-P uses this idea for the BST job/class and gives us something a little different as a reward (unique chocobo armor or special limited breed of choco would be nice..)
I do agree with this but I would always say that DRG>BST for dragon mounts though. Also as I said above I wouldnt mind if there were a select few smaller mobs that anyone can ride, like a coblyn (probably modified to make sure there isnt a huge spike up your ass) because I belive it should be things anyone (cept a lalafell) can realisticly intimidate.I'm in favor of Beastmasters taming mobs to ride into battle, but I don't think just anyone should be able to whistle and summon a Goobbue to ride..
