Are we talking about FFXIV AF? Or am I missing something. I haven't done that quest yet so don't spoil anything else if so.

Yep I am, you'll see what I mean.

We're in the same ballpark then. Instead of a constant pet that requires rebalancing of the job, simply limit dragon access to special attacks with a modest cooldown (or other limiting factors).

Otherwise we're just a glorified hopping lancer. (IMO)

That's all DRG is now, which is why they're adjusting it.
