    MCH tips or guide

Hi, I'm not much of a PvPer, but now that my work schedule has changed so I am on in NA prime time, the shorter queues (relatively) have helped engage me.

But I have no idea how to be a good MCH, it seems. I hear they have good burst, but how do I pull that off without dying? Do I just hang back and wait for the other team to be distracted?

Any tips or links would be appreciated.

Largely, what constitutes a good burst in regular content is the same in PvP. Bear in mind, damage resistances and debuffs wrk a bit differently, and there are also PvP specific skills to utilize as well (Between the Eyes is a powerful shot, dealing more damage if your target is asleep, stunned, or bound).

Head over to the DPS forums and check out the "Lock & Load" MCH guide. Much of wha you learn there will be just as useful in PvP

Also be aware that both Bards and Machinists loose DpS in PvP based on distance from target. The max damage sweetspot is at 15y (or within 15y if Wanderer's Minuet/Gauss Barrel are active). If you are farther than 15y (or less than 15y away when WM/GB is not active) when using most attacks you will do less damage the farther away from the sweetspot you are.

I'll refer you to who got me interested in playing MCH in the first place. Check out "Moon Kibbles" on Youtube.

Moon Kibbles was a great reference. I mastered my Frontline Opener from watching those great videos. "Mira Rara" has an AMAZING Feast Opener that can be used in Frontline aswell. check it out on youtube. I promise if u wanna get better at MCH you will not be dissapointed

You have to keep in mind that you get synced to ilvl 150 in PvP, so everything over that is going to give you less stats than it shows. Any item over that level will give you the same amount of dexterity. However, if the item's ilvl is higher than 190, BOTH secondary stats will be maxed, whatever their orignal weight was on the item.

Basically, what you want to do is to mix and match pieces with your desired stats (mostly crit and det and your case) and a higher ilvl than 190. You'll want some accuracy (around 410 once synced), but nowhere near as much as you'd use on a PvE set.

Morale is pretty much useless: all it does is increase the ilvl of the piece when you are in a PvP area. A 205 piece becomes a 240, which then gets synced back down to 150 and since it already was over 190, you get the same stats in the end.

I see, so I need to build a gearset just for PvP... Time to clear some space, I guess. Thanks!

As a MCH you're going to want to prioritize Crit/Det on your secondaries, you can run accruracy if you wish. Personally I don't run any accuracy because when I'm burst I'm going to have Hawk's Eye on so I'll never miss anyway and I haven't run into many problems with no accuracy pieces.
