    PvP Advice for BLM Needed

I'm anything but new to my class, but I have yet to attempt pvp in this game due to the horror stories I hear about BLM survival rates. I greatly enjoy pvp in most games, but I constantly hear I picked the worst class for this, so I have yet to try it.

Could I get some tips on this to maybe help make pvp look like an option to me?

Also are there any places I can practice the pvp abilities? Like a practice dummy somewhere?

BLM isn't bad at PvP. They have good crowd control, they're just shit on a lot in Feast, but in 24/72-mans they do amazing. (Basically more people makes it easier for you to hang back and turret people, which is harder to do in Feast when there is 4/8 people on your team and the enemy is very aware of where you are and how long it takes you to cast)

I don't play BLM in PvP myself, but I know it plays very differently than PvE. Thunder is going to be your best friend, you're gonna wanna Thunder everything (even pets) for those sweet procs. I also now that Sharpcast + Fire I is better for you than to Fire III (people move around a lot, so Fire III's and IV's are a pain to slow cast, especially if you're in a place where you can get LoS easily). Face-target (which is default the F key if you play keyboard and haven't touched your keybinds) is very important because interrupting casts will be common if you're not careful and facing your target as they move around will reduce the likelihood of your casts being interrupted.

You can play with the class specific PvP skills at the Wolves' Den Pier, there are striking dummies on the 2nd floor of the ship.

Keep spamming sleep on people and make them angry.

BLMs are my first target in Frontlines though.

Phantom Dart(which should be in PvE),Sleep/Nightwing and Freeze. And then hope for the best. Always hate how every player can just run in circles and cancel your every cast. In stuff like Seal Rock I was always playing defensively. Exactly like an actual turret almost.

I do appreciate the advice. Are there any places I can practice the abilities? Like the Stone, Sky, Sea training grounds?

I've tried it a handful of times... and concluded that with The Feast, BLM is at the top of the menu and served pretty raw.

You pretty much have to go in blind. PvE even in sanctuaries with dummies lock out PvP exclusive skills. Most of the BLM skills are rather reactionary though. PD is Magic damage up, one is an awesome version of Surecast, one gives MP back and another is a instant cast sleep spell. We have another that's a close range AoE attack but I always found that one pretty lame. And Purify is required to cancel out CC like Sleep, stuns, DoTs.

You'll also get to put your shields to use.

Edit: Wolve's Den allows PvP skills to be used? Never knew that.
