You want some RNG? Try blowing around 4 million trying to pentamelding all of your crafting gear. And I was lucky with it.

So much this. So far I've spent 3+ mil worth of materia trying to pentameld 4 accessories. Not done yet, just ran out of materia and haven't had a chance to farm more.

I used to do that, but that was when the extra stats from the pentameld REALLY helped or outright made certain actions too RNG without it (like macroing certain rotations). Right now, unless you're trying to min/max for completion sake or want to save some gil by using lower tier materia throughout, you really don't need to do it. IW gear really does make pentamelding unnecessary, albeit quad is still certainly a thing lol.

It's likely that you'll have to do it so you can meet the stat requirements for the 4 Star recipes that haven't arrived yet.

I didn't get the tank pants I was after until this week. That was two wasted weeks of loot for me. It happens. We whine about it to our friends and move on, you. Everyone is in the same boat.

I did weeping city for over 12 hours yesterday since it was my day off to get my gd pants, basically got on my hands and knees and begged the other healer to not need on them when they FINALLY dropped. My sanity was at its end, but thanks to them I got it! Now I'm done with loot from that place and will just need on things for alts when I do my weekly token run and it feels good.
