Lets come up with dungeon ideas

The purpose of this thread is simple:

To come up with ideas for dungeons, dungeon mechanics we would like to see, or different ways the dungeons could be be done.

Just be sure to understand one simple fact: Don't expect to see your Dungeon/Mechanic/Method in the game exactly as you envisioned it.

I'll start off with my idea:

Name: Haukke Manor Elite (Or Extreme, whichever works)
Party Size: 8 man (2 Tank, 2 Healer, 4 DPS)
    Level: 60

The Dungeon: The dungeon itself is an unrestricted Haukke Manor with a straight shot to the boss in the room where you fight Lady Amandine. However, there are 4 rooms in the dungeon, guarded by brainwashed servants, that contain cages with trapped voidsent inside. If you free and defeat these voidsent the main dungeon boss will become unable to consume them for more power.

    One in the Red Hall
    One in the Yellow Hall
One in the Guest room near the Red Hall
One in the room down the hall from the White Hall

The Boss: There is only one boss in this dungeon that is designed to be difficult or annoying depending on your perception of the mechanics, its also easy if you clear the dungeon portion first.

For every prison room left uncleared the boss gets a revive, up to a maximum of 3 times. The 4th room is consumed for a special attack.

Baseline the boss will have access to common succubi abilities, void spells, mass terror AoE, in addition to physical AoEs similar to Ser Grinnaux from the Vault. Boss also has a limited add pool it can summon.

Each time the boss is killed it revives, it gets extra mechanics to throw around, and both its health and attack power increases.

1st revive grants access to 3 abilities:

Mass Charm: causes all inflicted by it to stop attacking and run to the boss.
Essence Drain: consumes a large portion of Health from those afflicted with Charm and uses it to heal the boss.
Conversion: converts the targeted DPS or Healer into a Maid or Butler (depending on gender) that attacks the player party until knocked out of it.

2nd revive grants access to 3 abilities:

Subtle Whispers: stacking anti-tank debuff Debuff that upon hitting 4 stacks charms the tank into ceasing attacking and taking bonus damage from Soul Drain.
Soul Drain: Tankbuster that deals bonus damage to targets with 4 stacks of Subtle Whispers, heals the boss equal to the damage dealt.
Imprison: Cages the target player until the cage has been broken.

3rd revive grants access to 3 abilities:

Enslave Prisoner: permanently converts imprisoned player into a maid/butler for the remainder of the fight.
Sacrifice Servants: consumes the health of all active servants to restore the boss's health equal to the health they lost. Enslaved servants will revive automatically after a period of time.
Consume: started when the boss gets to 15% health, consumes the last prison room (if available) to wipe the party unless killed first or the room is cleared already.

The Reward: Clearing with all 4 rooms untouched grants a special achievement and title: Danced with the She-Devil (or whatever SE comes up with).

Clearing with 3 rooms untouched grants a Gold chest with access to all loot the dungeon offers including dungeon themed weapons, armor pieces, succubus glamour set, maid glamour set, butler glamour set, boss minion.

Clearing with 2 rooms untouched grants a Silver chest with access to dungeon themed armor, succubus glamour, maid glamour, butler glamour.

Clearing with 1 room untouched grants a normal chest with access to dungeon themed armor.

Background: There once was a woman who fled her homeland with her husband and sister. She had lost her family to the outbreak of war, save for the two she brought with her. They fled across the sea to a land unknown to them their limited wares and knowledge attracted the attention of one Lady Amandine.

Lady Amandine brought them into her own home to make use of their wares, their knowledge, for nothing could ever hold back her obsession over her beauty. Over time Lady Amandine and this woman became friends until one day something happened.

The woman's husband was found drained to a husk by a succubus. The succubus managed to escape, and the woman swore vengeance. So she left the manor, weapon in hand, to exact her vengeance herself. Leaving her sister in the care of Lady Amandine.

Years passed, the Calamity came and went, Lady Amandine descended into madness and the sister was killed.

Then the woman came back. She had found the succubus, killed it, but her vengeance had not been sated so she kept hunting succubi. She had gotten used to their blood being splattered on her, used to being exposed to their vile power. She had left the manor pure and whole, but now she returns, halfway to becoming the very thing she had hunted.

And she had returned following the rumors of voidsent, of succubi, in the Haukke manor. She found her sister had been killed, her friend turned into her prey, and her prey's master. So she consumed them. Yet it was not enough, she could sense how the manor was a weakspot in the fabric of reality between the void and the world. So she decided to make use of that.

Using the powers afforded to her by her succubus half she claimed the minds of adventurers and Wood Wailers. Turning them into new maids, butlers, and guards to serve her. With their help the manor was cleaned up, made presentable, and turned into one giant voidsent trap. Her plan was simple: she would consume voidsent until she had enough power to make her own void gate. To go over to their side, and hunt her prey until they were truly exterminated. Consequences be damned.

It is your job to put an end to this madness.

One of my wishes is have a high level dungeons, not only raids. This is a good idea, but instead of Extreme version of dungeons (I don't like recycling dungeons), put totally new ones, designed for this content.

Although I like the idea of side bosses than can weaken the main boss, and I completely agree with giving a title for those who do it the 'hard way', I don't agree with further incentivising it.

Players already want to take the 'shortest' path, whether or not it's the most rewarding, whether or not their party members are capable/want to do it. Add in your idea that the shortest path is also the most rewarding one, no one will ever touch a side boss. If the party isn't capable of handling the last boss, there will be kicks or people bailing, with or without insults and drama attached.

I have never once seen a df group try to skip mechanics, and when it fails say good-naturedly 'guess we can't do it, let's do it the proper way'. It's always been leave or kick till they find people who can do it the 'fast' way.

You also already see it with the near constant push for speed runs. Even if the party proves incapable of keeping up, people don't want to do it the 'slow' way, even if the multiple wipes are making it take longer.

Part of the reason that the more options were locked behind higher difficulty fights was because if this was something where you could get a mid-core weapon at the time it was released (example: could get an ilvl 225 weapon to help make progress in nidhogg ex for the ilvl 235 weapon) and it was available at all stages people would just go and find the optimal path to speed clear the key rooms then hit the boss and obliterate it without difficulty. Because that would be the most efficient way to get the mid-core weapon.

The idea kinda was a merging of an Extreme Trial and a Dungeon, where the dungeon allows you to scale back the trial. If they want to go throw themselves at a brick wall and bash their own head in then fine. You can leave and find groups willing to scale down the fight and actually learn it until you can get that mid-core weapon. The biggest difficulty most would probably have is the DPS check at the end, those just out for glamours can clear 2 rooms for an easier fight and do that on farm.

I would love to see a boss that retreats into mirrors surrounding the room and you can only hurt him by hitting the different one, any others would heal him for the damage dealt. Or maybe one that's a giant bubble that you have to overfill with water using a hose (similar to bringing the chains to Cerberus and turning the valves in Pharos Sirius) in order to damage him.

The goofy mechanics are my favorite ones.
