I hate to break it to you Seraph, but no two people are exactly like in how they think, act, react, learn, remember, etc. You also have to consider people play on different platforms for this game, and even among PC players, not everyone uses keybinds or macros, or still rely on mouse clicking(I rely on A LOT of mouse clicking still). I've been gaming for a long, long time. I still remember when 5 1/4" floppies were the thing and Windows hadnt been out yet. Your standards are a bit too high for the average person.

it's not that easy. To be fair, even if they're semi-slow as hitting the skills, theres still no excuse when the game itself highlights which to use next in the rotation. It's kind of hard to miss that. It even says "if you click this, you do (whatever amount) potency. If you click it after using the skill before it, you do more potency."

The problem isn't really with people who are slow or new, it's the ones who just don't care and hit any buttons or just a single one, no matter if they have a proc up for another skill or the game says which is next in the rotation. I've had lvl 60 brds, who just spam straight shot and that's it. Mch who don't use turrets etc

No, dont worry I agree with you. Everyone are different, this was just an example of 2 very causal players I know. You know, you never know how good you can be until you try, which is my point. Many don't try and they will never see what they can actually do, which is a problem and been something many in here been trying to say. If a person learns but slow and steady but still learns, I'm all up for it. I'm not sure if you saw the post after this one, but you should check it out, if you can't find it, I'll quote it for ya. I think we are somewhat on the same page here and perhaps not explained things so good that people can often be mistaken about it.

So dramatic way of writting, for something that is supposed to be a game, an entertainment, you make me think about critics who destroy a movie which will be successfull... I'm not sure people can be motivated to play better after such thread.

I've seen something about wipes on an Ex. If you are stressed the first run (you can have down it with a job and wish to try with another or just had chance the first run -think about titan ex if you've got titan down while being far below, without seeing anything-), if people starts to critisize, you are even more stressed and do more mistakes. I really rarely practice Ex but for sure, I'm not comfortable before at least ten complete runs. And still consider myself as a beginner.

Tutorials are a thing but practice is pretty much another.

Again, I'm not the last to consider there are bad players but... some here sound too harsh and too dramatic. It is not even about using diplomacy to tells things, some sound too serious and too sure of their fact while they don't know anything about what happens the other side. It is not to say but... circumstances matters.

Again (2nd), I agree we can improve, after all, only when we are dead we stop to learn, but... expressing things that way...

You will just end to make people leave or say "I don't care" what you especially wish to avoid to experience again...

Well it's not like it isn't an arguable point, his argument hinges on the fact that dps as a healer is a moot point because dpsing as a healer is useless.

I personally think instead of going back if forth with counter arguments you show hard facts and calcluations about exactly how much dps a healer can actually do

It's not really arguable though especially in dungeons where healing is minimal and at least on WHM you can out dps almost every class on trash mobs and over an entire dungeon you can have usually have similar dps numbers to the actual dps in the group and even out dps them in some cases.

This thread has certainly devolved a bit into name calling (Useless, Moron, Elitist). Perhaps we should put ourselves back on track with a dash of civility! Personally I think this thread has gone as far as it can go, maybe some food for thought for both sides of the argument, even if nobody's stance has changed.
