Thoughts on a relic armor?

I would love to see relic armor into this game as well, that you can customize stats and looks, Although I could see this becoming OP, it would be fine with me if we could only pick 1 or 2 pieces, and make it incredibly time consuming to finish, as is tradition.

Obviously I haven't put much thought into this, just seeing if anyone would be interested in something like this

It would also allow you to have some options with gear sets, so xyz isnt the only thing close to BiS

I think Diadem gear with the randomize secondary stats is the closest thing to what your asking for that is currently in the game. Except, that's not customizable.

I would be perfectly okay with them bringing this RNG gear back if the method to obtain was more entertaining and not as mindlessly boring as the Diadem was.

Only if it's tied to Job Quests. I grow weary of Tomestone farming and Token farming which equates to more tomestone farming. Make it interesting and not reruns of old content.

If there is no alternative then we're better off not having it to begin with.

In a way i like the idea. You would have multiple ways to put in more time and effort to get gear slightly better than tomestone gear, such as raiding and relic. But it would probably just lead to people complaining about how time consuming it is

Either way. I hope the devs got big plans for 4.0. I'm not sure how many people will want to do roullettes for another 2 years if that is all there is and a couple raids.

It has been brought up before and addressed in one of the older live letters. However Yoshi stated that this was never planned but might be taken in consideration if the demand is high enough. He did also state that it might be a possibility for later expansions, but he did flat out say it's not planned for 4.0 and as always he ended that with, please look foward to it lol. We will see what happens, I on one side like the idea but I can see how it's difficult to implement as well as newer or old returning players be able to catch up down the road.

If it's going to be a super grindy time sink they use to revive/sustain old content,
if it's going to be a potential gil sink, or crafter's goldmine,
If it's going to require arbitrarily large amounts of items to get, with low drop rates or require numbers of other items to get just for one of them,

NO.

I've been nothing less than vocal in my criticisms and distaste for relic weapons and how they're handled. I'm finally close to completing the 210 step now, and only moreso motivated to just drop it and not bother ever again. You can pretty much count me out on 4.0 and future relics.

How bout if they made it so tht we simply have to do it like fight ex primals and such. they drop a garenteed item that youll need to combine it into another so that way you can boost the armor up. and once you do that youll move on to the next primal. or do the priml runs but have each armor set for each job be about one primal. so that way you can farm the said primal for the required items to boost up your armor.
