I may have messed up my choice of server

So i'm new to this game, so far i'm really liking it! Only have one character so far and i've been playing for a few days.

I was kind eager to try this out so i may have kind of..just picked a server at random. ( Shiva)

Anyone with a bit of insight regarding? It seems a bit quiet and only german.

Hello there. Shiva is an EU server, so it makes sense that it would have a population of European players ha ha. Depending on where you live I may be able to give you some insight as to what may be a better fit for you. Assuming you're a North American player, I'd suggest that you swap to the Aether Data Center as it contains the two servers with the largest NA populations which would help out on queue times and communication between fellow players on your particular world. As for what specific server, biased towards Jenova, but there are plenty of good choices available.

I'm just thinking i should have scouted for a more english-speaking oriented, social & newbie friendly server. I'm already quite attached to my conjurer so i just feels like this whole situation sucks a little bit.

Oh, then try Ragnarok, Phoenix, or Odin. Both Moogle and Shiva are populated primarily by French and German players. There is a transfer service, but it does incur a fee. You can also copy your character's appearance by either right clicking it or pressing square on the login screen if you'd prefer a free option and would just like to start fresh.

Shiva really is mostly German, an FC mate transferred from there cause had probs to connect.
I am on Cerby (Cerberus) we have a good mix imo. Mostly German, French, UK, Russian with a loooot of other countries mixed in. Don't forget to mention Cerby which is very active!!
I have an alt on Zodiark (low level) that seems in comparison very calm.

Lich is also an EU server, with more of a mix of English/French/German. There are a few Scandinavians in my FC, as well, so they hang out here too

But don't worry too much since you're so low level; you can just start over if you don't want to pay the transfer fee.

Since i got the game for like 4 euros on steam i'm starting to think Cerb might be an alternative for a transfer. I'm thinking my silly catboy might be worth the love of a transfer fee

I've gotta agree with the other 2 opinions as Lodestone shows you as level 13 CNJ. Just start on the server(s) [<- good time to test 1 or two and see where you feel home] of choice a new character that will safe you money and you can just skip cutscenes util you again at the same spot in story
