Object Use Emotes

I think it would be fun if future emotes were considered where the player used an object. Maybe smoke a pipe, toss a coin purse up in their hand, or periodically drink from a flask. Part of the reason players wanted new persistent emotes was to prevent all the players from looking like zombies when idling around the maps. (Remember when we didn't have /changepose??) Unfortunately, they still remain mostly zombie like though in other positions. It would be nice to see something that made them seem a little more lively.

I'm all for new idle stances/emotes and I like your idea!

I made a similar post about idling, though mine was a chatter emote suggestion, but it was to avoid not looking like we're playing statues while afk/idle for a few min/RPing. I mentioned it a year ago and they never added it, but I hope you get more luck with your suggestion!

-Holding hand up to ear like you are talking on your LinkPearl
-Slower persistent /Lookout motion

I'd like something like the current Miqo'te Female /Doze so I can rest on the beach/in the flowers while idle. Siesta!

There have been times when I finish an enemy in a cool and smooth fashion and I always feel like tossing a coin right after... but I cant :/
I want to flip coins!!

Doing some squats or stretches while idle would be fun to see too.

I'm not too familiar with other race emotes, but the only emotes I've seen that don't look statue-esqe are the Lalafel, who rock side to side when sitting on the ground, or kick their feet while sitting in a chair. I haven't noticed anyone else with an emote that did anything similar to this. Maybe for the SMN/SCH at least make it look like they are looking at the pages and maybe turning them. They do just sit way too still. Not sure why Lalafel were the only ones to get animated poses.

I'm honestly REALLY surprised we haven't gotten the squats yet. They even use the animation in FFXIV already.

People in general will groom themselves during their day. Be it rubbing their skin, adjusting their clothes, picking at a scratch or scratching an itch. With this in mind, since idle stances are race and gender specific, I'd like to see more racial-oriented ones.
Miqo'te brushing their tail, Roegadyn rubbing their muscles, Elezen stretching their necks or rubbing at their ears, Au Ra brushing their scales, things like that.

Objects would be lovely, but don't forget the person themselves!

You mean like SWTOR? Thats what they do, they have a lot of dumb stuff like coin flipping and such.

I'd still like /wag for tailed races, but it wouldn't be fair that they get a race specific emote just cause of their tails.

Yes, please. I want a refined looking /pipe emote so bad. Additionally, I'd really like to see them add in moods. I first saw this in SWG (although, it didn't have unique animations), and I believe that ESO just recently added this. Basically, you can set a mood like /carefree or /annoyed and it would have a persistent effect on your idles and facial expressions.
