I want this game to be successful beyond just a niche audience, and that's going to take changes both of us might be uncomfortable with. In this case, jump is a long time coming, and overdue to many people. And if they're going to implement it, I'd rather it be done right, and done to enhance the gameplay. If jump has no function in cities, then there is absolutely no reason not to allow players to filter it out.

Citing the example that a feature does not exist in FFXIV does not preclude it's addition. In FFXI you could filter out weapon animations. Did that affect other people's experience or the game?
