I am glad jump is being implemented.
shut up you idiots jeez
Oh, good lord. Jumping officially has been confirmed, otherwise they wouldn't have bothered with a prototype animation for it. Fighting it at this point is like the people who argued against auto-attack, all the way to 1.18 patch day.
The only thing that can be considered constructive feedback now is how it should be implemented, not if.
I, for one, am glad to see it being implemented. Maybe that's one less thing the gaming community can use to take pot shots at FFXIV. This game is ridiculed for being in the dark ages, and rightly so.
I'm also glad to see it looks like a free-form spacebar type jump!

I would've always been fine with context sensitive jumps. Like in Zelda games, or in FFXIII. I, personally, feel that would be the best path to take, but realize it's more than likely too late in the design process to implement it due to how they design the maps.
I wish they could've listened to other people who thought this, as well as the crowd that wanted jump and come to a happy medium.
Oh well.
Because a whole lot of people, myself obviously included, enjoy being able to freely move. Seems pretty simple to me.
I totally agree, I hate fighting, I hate EVERYTHING in exsistance HAS to be a WOW clone IF it meet anything that makes it seem "wowish", and for all that is good, people use the same features in every MMO is Natural, but calling it a " Wow clone" is kinda childish :/Oh, good lord. I'd like to see it implemented as an action in areas of maps to ascend to higher spots. Such as nearing a cliff edge, and having the action pop up in your menu, or to double click the spot. Controlled areas in other words, instead of free-jumping as an emote.
It's still jump, it still allows you to access areas you couldn't reach, and offers for more dynamic map areas.
He said it's in development and still in testing...it has not been finalized that it will be added to the game as of yet...why have jump if there's no reason for the jump feature?
Here we go with people jumping randomly for no reason what so ever...sounds unnecessary to add and only causes crazy mapping calculations and collision detection and mob targeting and AI issues.
Xenoblade has jump. That's a JRPG. Quit pissing on the idea of jump and let us enjoy it. FFXIII-2 has free jump as well.
Jumping is being implemented. Great in my books. I can see what that brings to the table. Good and Bad. Mostly good. But if you are the type of person that feels rage cause someone is bunny hopping around, maybe you should really just play sp games cause if its not bunny hopping, then its gonna be something else that makes you livid.
Its just an alpha, showing generally what its gonna be like. How bout we wait and see the final release before we start raging.
