I wasn't sure where to post this so I popped it in suggestions:
I love botanist but I am disappointed that the things we buy with guild marks are all random chance procs. I appreciate that in order to keep the jobs balanced, the current method for these abilities is the best way, it would be a bit broken if we could activate Sweat of Brow at every logging location but I think some of the abilities could be nerfed and set as job traits instead.
For Example:
Brunt Force: Temporarily increases your strength
This could have the increase to strength lowered, maybe even level equivalent, that a level 50 botanist will obtain a larger boost to say a level 30 botanist, and set as a job triat.
Ageless Words: Temporarily increases your intelligence
This marvels me as I have never seen an ability proc on the off hand which for botanist is affected by INT, rendering this almost useless, at least until SE make INT also affect our main hand. However, this could be implemented in the same fashion as Brunt Force.
Green Mind: Slows the rate at which a gathering location's remainder decreases
Surely as your progress as a botanist you learn how to make effective use of your harvesting points. You learn how hard to strike, where to chop, how to maximise your return as you begin to appreciate different trees. I think simply making this a job triat would make it more worthwhile and as this is only available post level 30 quest, it can't be abused.
Master of Timber: Increases your chance to obtain High-Quality Items while gathering.
Again, as you become more attuned to the trees and how to reap the most from your resource, surely it is fair to suggest that they would be able to produce high quality logs or branches. They know what they are looking for to make a profit and they know how to get it. This is only available post the level 36 quest so it can't be abused.
Now I am aware that by suggesting the above, Brunt Force and Ageless Words could be abused but they currently stand as Disciple of the Land only so this could either remain the same or simply make it Botanist only. I must also state that these are the only four abilities I could warrent being made job traits, the other abilities would produce an incredibly broken class, particularly Sweat of Brow and Fingerprints of the Gods. I have not levelled Miner or Fisher but as far as I am aware they have similar abilities too which could be changed to job triats without breaking the classes.
I will admit I have no idea how difficult this would be to implement, and is by no means an important issue but it would make the jobs a lot more efficient and a lot more enjoyable to play. Thanks for reading ^^
