Why is it going to be another year or more for the PS3 version. I really want to play it on the PS3. I have characters on the PC but prefer PS3

Better they take time making this game as best as it can be than releasing an unfinished product.![]()
Here is why, Yoshi says the game engine is super suck that they have to rebuild it from the ground up which also scrapping the "rumored" FFXIV PS3 few months ago before Tanaka was replace by Yoshi.
And because it is going to be rebuild from a newer customize engine; PS3 is the only thing left that can turn aside from the bad PC launch to a outstanding launch for the PS3, and is going to take another year to make it available.
i think the reason why PS3 version is delayed to that date is here http://lodestone.finalfantasyxiv.com...menu&id=teaser not in the forum, read.
Its because they know they made a mistake releasing the PC version when they did and dont wanna make the same mistake and cost em even more money.
V2 will be the ealiest it will be ready for a re-release which is why it will take so long, believe me i'm a lil annoyed about it, I have some really close friends waiting for PS3 release so I cant play it with em.
How do you know you prefer the PS3 when it isn't even out yet?
Most people say they prefer consoles for the "couch experience", but you do realize that
1) you can use a gamepad with a PC
2) you can connect a PC to a modern TV and sit on the couch.
You don't have to sit at a desk or a table to play PC games anymore.
Unless your PC can barely run the game, you will get better quality with the PC version, and you can get the same "couch experience."
Cost is a valid reason to go with a console over a PC, but since you already own a PC and play the game, that obviously isn't/wasn't an issue. The only other reason to "prefer" the ps3 version is you're a console fanboi.

The whole 'fanboy/fanboi' thing needs to die lol. (I do remember when PC gaming was pretty much dead when Consoles were on the rise though.)How do you know you prefer the PS3 when it isn't even out yet?

Also, console games are usually more optiimized and this game was clearly designed with the console in mind, so preferring to play on a console would be because of performance (only reason to tweak a PC game is for graphics) and because some people would just rather play it on their favorite platform.
I loathe playing RPGs on the PC, I don't mind MMOs, but single player RPGs I prefer on consoles.
That was true when consoles didn't have hard drives and games came on cartridges and CDs that couldn't be patched/updated. But it's not really true any more, and in fact the PC versions are usually far more optimized (In large part because they tend to be released later). Since console games can be patched just as easily as PC games now, developers are leaving bugs in to make the release date on all platforms now. Also, console games are usually more optiimized
I still don't see what the difference is. What makes an RPG better on one platform over another? I already addressed the comfort issue, and the gamepad issue. Other than cost and the necessary specs for good quality and performance, there is absolutely no advantage to one platform over another, ESPECIALLY for RPGs. Dragon Age? Better on PC- higher quality options, and moddability/ Oblivion? A million times better on PC due to quality and moddability and ability to fix bugs Bethesda left in the game in all versions (Gotta say, the elder scrolls games and the Fallout games are all great, but horribly bug-ridden, and the bugs never get fixed- At least on the PC version, modders can fix the bugs...)I loathe playing RPGs on the PC, I don't mind MMOs, but single player RPGs I prefer on consoles.
The thing is, there is usually no reason for that platform to be their favorite other than it was the first one they played on and so they choose to stick with it due to familiarity (e.g. "fanboy"). I admit, as far as consoles go, I'm probably a Nintendo fanboy if anything, but that's almost purely because I grew up with the NES and SNES. if I had gotten a playstation as my first console, I probably would have felt completely different.and because some people would just rather play it on their favorite platform.
These days, my consoles don't get much use, except for games that are not available on the PC.
So the question is: WHY is <insert platform here> your favorite platform? Just because XYZ game came out on it? Just becuse XYZ company made it?
