Amazon promo issue

So, I bought a game from amazon and I live in the US and I am being told I do not qualify for the promotion because the game was used even though the game was sold and shipped by amazon. They then continued to tell me that the previous owner (very angry at this point) could have already redeemed the code there for I can no longer use the code.... Is it really this hard to get the codes for the maid/butler outfit with the chocobo?

You bought the game (even if it was second hand, you are entitled to a code). My advice if you still have not received this item, cancel it and pre-order (no second hand this time, to avoid this issue) something new .

But first talk with Amazon support and explain this to them, because being given the same code as the previous owner is plain wrong.

Yeah, it shows special offers, so you deserve a working code. Contact them and explain everything, this is a mistake on their part and they need to fix it. If they are not going to fix it, cancel this order and pre-order something else, but new this time.

Amazon Warehouse Deals are treated as a 3rd party seller, to my knowledge. It is handled separately from just buying directly from the main Amazon.com listing.

Promotion stayed up when selecting the warehouse and would disappear is I select a different seller.

I am going to guess you bought that game for the promotion, which means if you are still able to cancel, you should cancel it.
