Hey all. Old gamer here. But very new to FF. Still getting the grasp of how things are down and loving the game and story. Well that's all I have for now (not easy typing on phone) lol

Welcome to Eorzea!
If you're still new to the FF series, the FF Wiki would be a good place to get to know the 13 games that came before FFXIV and all their sequels, prequels, spinoffs, tie-ins and compilations that FFXIV references and draws lore and concepts from.
For information specific for FFXIV itself, Gamerescape's FFXIV site is a very good resource that I use.![]()
Thank you will do on that info
Welcome to Eorzia
Hope you have a great time
well now that I'm from work, I can give a quick background. I normally play dps type characters mainly rangers, beastlords, rogues, monks. When I found this I thought it was really cool how you can do those as jobs. I started playing EQ then EQ2, SW:ToR, Rift and a few others. I have never played WoW, was never a fan of warcraft probably back in the day when games required dice, pen and paper. And a DM with a good imagination.
I still occasionally play EQ2, SW:ToR and Rift but was feeling burned out so was looking for a new game and a fellow gamer from the SW:ToR forums reference this one so I figured I try it.
I did the Free Trial first then bought ARR after about a week. I decided to go NIN and just hit 34 last night. Really loving it now.
Welcome to FF and Eorzea! Based off what you have posted, NIN definitely sounds like a job you would find a lot of enjoyment in, but don't be afraid to give other DPS jobs and roles a try. If you are interested in some of the FF background, I would look into the Primals, which have taken on other names throughout the series. They've been referred to as summons, espers, eidolons, guardian forces, etc.
They are the pillars of the series, and most FF fans really look forward to taking them on in battle. Primals such as Odin and Bahamut have an insane amount of lore and history attached to them.
Happy travels!
Thank you Gemina. Yeah when I first started i was archer and picked up lancer both in mid teens. Then i was reading about monk so I actually journeyed to Ul'dah to get pugilist and this is where I messed up on my MSQ and lost track of where I was at LOL. But then I started to do some research on the other classes/jobs and found ninja. So after I read how to get to Limsa I leveled pugilist up after I found where I was at to get airship pass. Been rogue/ninja since then.
Was trying to read up on the lore at work but hard to navigate the wikia on phone LOL. The FC I'm in is wonderful and has been helping as well as the novice channeler and I found it helps the duty group I join that I mention I am new to FF. Most are totally cool.
But I am having a blast, learning the combinations now I have 2 is actually quite interesting and makes it really enjoyable and a new experience for me.
