    No damage reduction from successful blocks?

    I haven't had enough time to really test this out... but today I was running around on my 39 GLA fighting the NMs for It Kills With Fire(ul'dah) and I noticed that on normal hits Queen Bolete would hit me for 89-105 damage.

    When I would successfully block (Ferth Fontaine partially blocks...) I'd still be taking damage in that same range of damage, 92, 106, 101...

    I was using a Bladed Lantern Shield, level 39, blockrate 70, block 57...

    Granted I haven't done any testing with shields since they changed in 1.19... but it didn't seem to accomplish much to block attacks beyond allowing me to use phalanx.

    Has anyone else noticed this, or done any testing to see what may have changed in regards to how shield stats work since they removed guard?
